I have the j&l passenger side only and would definitely recommend it. First time you empty it after a few 100 miles u will be very happy you got it

NA with a J&L on the passenger side. I just emptied out a little over 1 oz after 2800 miles.

Does it matter if the engine has forced induction or not? I’m not sure.
I run the Ford Performance separators on my 350.
No, it doesn't. Its more or less "mandatory" for FI cars... A catch can is good for any engine. One of the first mods I've always done for the last 15 years.

I just went with the UPR dual catchcan when I supercharged. Super easy install and does both sides. And I got it from Beefcake!
Same, super easy, looks clean and not horribly priced.

So I'm about to put my car down for the winter again and I'll be doing some more work to the engine. Right now it's Whipple Supercharged with several supporting mods. It makes 768WH and I'm looking at adding a good catch can. What ones work best for supercharged cars?
I did extensive research into this. The best filtering catch can is the j&l oil separator. Upr is good but nothing to write home about. The Ford performance one is nifty too but way overpriced. Go j&l and call if a day

Forgive my ignorance, but I thought catch cans were really only that useful on engines that were direct-injection only. And a 2015, IIRC, has only port injectors (let alone having both, like the 2018+).
No. Coyotes especially 15+ have a ton of oil that passes through the pass ever side. Drivers side is always bone dry but pass ever side in coyotes let's in a crap ton of oil. You can get about 1-2 inches deep of oil in a catch can every 1-2 oil changes if you drive it hard.

Ford Performance on both sides of ESS boosted Bullitt, left side required reworking the inlet hose as it is interested for the GT350

A catch can is good on any engine that recycles oil vapors back through its intake. After years it gunks shit up. It's horrible.
I agree. I've removed tons of intakes during the course of my career and these were all stock vehicles of all makes and yes, the amount of oily sticky stuff inside the intake can't be good and I can see how it would disturb airflow on some models. They also get into the tuning valves that many engines had.

A catch can is useful on any engine that recirculates crankcase fumes back into the air intake. It keeps your air intake cleaner with all types of injectors.
