So ive got a 2017 mustang with a ported 18 mani, gutted cats, exhaust dumps, SR Performance Xpipe, Roush CAI and E85 (E80) tuned by Tricky. I sent him a datalog and he said im seeing some knock in 3rd. Decided to take another log and look myself and im seeing less that 1 degree of knock right as the car starts to gain rpm after the 2-3 shift for about 100-200 rpm. Any Ideas here??

With this little bit of knock do you think it would be okay to slightly desensistize the sensors and just roll with it?
Nope. Do everything you can to find it.

E80 I wondered how you were getting 32 degrees of timing. Yes I would think it is false. Since it is on a shift I'd look at motor mounts and witness marks on the exhaust.

God I hope it’s not a motor Mount. I’ve got 73k miles think they would already be bad? Also what part of the exhaust is most common for issues on stock headers

You said gutted cats, I would look there first.

It could be anything. If you can't find it I wouldn't sweat it. It is only pulling 1 degree and giving it right back. Is this an auto and what year is the car?

Gotcha I’ll pull the x pipe and check to make sure they’re clean. But it’s a 2017 6R80 auto.

Grab you a rubber mallet and hit things. Anything that rings could be it.

I found my false knock. Passenger side header on AC line. My shop moved motor over a tad to make more clearance.
