at $400 is it worth it? How much water can it filter? I'm assuming more than enough for a full wash?

I should have mentioned earlier that distilled water will work better. Impurities are boiled out, much cleaner.

Albert: They claim that you can get 300 gallons from the resin carts. I back off the PW to 600psi which yields about a gallon/min. That equates to 300 minutes of rinsing. I've timed myself and I can rinse an entire vehicle in five minutes or less so about 60 rinses for me on two carts.

I have softened water at the house so it's pretty good to start with and I only use the DIC-20 water for a final-final rinse (I rinse the soap off with house water and THEN I rinse with the DIC-20.)

When I first got the rig, I tested it on my F250. Same wash routine but after a DIC-20 rinse, I let it sit in the south Texas sun. Virtually no spots which is why I recommend it.

I wash cars frequently and I just put new carts in after a year or so of washing. About $125/2 carts.

CarPro released a new acidic based soap late last year called Descale.

Over time, minerals (sometimes seen as water spots) and sometimes not easily visible will "clog" or cause the surface to be less smooth. Descale car shampoo was created to help remove and strip these stubborn minerals from coated or even non coated cars."

A soap like this may not completely remove water spots, but will certainly help.
