Hey, if the pump sprayer works for you, rock 'n roll but honestly, it seems like a whole lot of effort pumping and spraying. There's almost no force coming out of the sprayer to push the hard water off so you'd have to get right down next to the surface to get any movement of the bad water.
All this to save less than a few hundred bux for a softener rig? Do yourselves a favor and get a DIC-20 or similar and put the pump sprayer in your garden tools section where it belongs. :-)
