I'm only going to regret getting the manual during morning commute. The stop and go part (about 4 miles) is uphill.
Look at it this way... You can save money by cancelling your gym membership! More mod money!

I ordered a Limited Edition S550 on 5/20 after seeing it at the NYIAS in April. I ordered a WW with a 6sp. Deposit left: Done.

Then I was reading further and realized that the GT automatic is not eligible for the PP. The only way you can get a 2015 with auto + PP is on the LE.

Then I drove a 6sp 2104 GT last weekend and had second thoughts. There is a lot of play in the 2014 Mustang clutch pedal. A lot of inches. I had to lift my knee to get to the friction point. there's probably 3-4" between the floor and the friction point. I realize that I could get an aftermarket clutch or throw-out, or perhaps the stock clutch can be adjusted?

{Flamesuit on} So I called and changed my order to an automatic since it hasn't been given a VIN yet. Am I going to regret it?
The only thing I think you might regret is if they bump back your scheduling. Lets hope you stayed where you were in line. Good luck.

Actually, the Limited Edition is the only 2015 GT automatic with a performance pack. Regular GT auto cannot get PP but it's standard on all LE regardless of transmission choice

I'm seriously considering an auto. Have had manuals pretty much all my driving life. Paddle shifting, rev matching and remote start sound mighty fine to me.

manual is better

learning to rev match with a manual is more rewarding than having the car do it for you

leave it to the aftermarket to come up with an auto start system for a manual

I've installed remote start on a manual. No big deal. The factory won't do it for reliability reason I guess....who knows. I don't need remote start for mine since it'll be a garaged summer only cruiser :headbang:

I rev match just fine with a manual. Point was, now you don't lose it with the auto.

I'd be surprised if there is an aftermarket remote start for the manual - wouldn't want it even if there was - no way I am leaving my car parked in neutral.

I get the whole: it is more rewarding to drive a manual - you are one with the car - argument. Just not sure I care so much anymore. I think point and shoot could suit me fine. Sure didn't miss a manual in my 300 srt8 - though who would want one in such a boat.

Still have a bit of soul searching to do on this one.

remote start would be great in the summer too. Cool down the car.

It will be great hearing the engine fire up from outside of the car as you approach it...Sweet Exhaust Sounds-->Horderves/Appetizers for the ears before the main course-->:D

I hear ya, though I probably wouldn't hear it start most times, as I'd likely go with something like this:

This should be standard on all remote start vehicles.

Resale will be higher, ie Collectors will pay much more for the car because it is truly fully optioned and buyers likely are not looking to bang gears. Plus the PP/Auto exclusivity everyone else mentioned.

I didn't even think about the remote start functionality. That actually makes me feel better about switching to an auto. I get bored sitting in a car waiting for two minutes after i start it and i feel guilty driving a car without letting it warm up first. i have remote start on all of my other vehicles and i always said i wouldn't want a car without it ever again. done. auto it is.

Thanks everyone for helping me realize I made the right decision after all.
