I've been using clay for a few years and it is an amazing product! Looking at the paint quality of the new Mustangs, it seems like the Flat Rock plant has pretty darn good quality. My most recent new vehicle is a 2012 Jeep Wrangler and while the paint looked good (Dark Cherry Metallic) the clear coat was very thick and had a poor finish to it. Clay Bar helped to a point, but it really needed a full cut and polish to really bring out the shine. This vehicle having large flat panels is an easy car to polish out.

I am happy to see that the paint quality of the Mustangs is such that the clay and a good wax will make it look very very nice.

Lots of people underestimate new vehicle finishes. Not every new vehicle is perfect from the factory. A good and proper detail is always a good start for proper vehicle finish care.
Yep, totally agree. The first thing I did after I picked up my car from the dealer was wash, clay bar, wax and polish. There was just so much gunk in the clear coat. Smooth as silk now.

Clay is one of the first steps to car care addiction. Soon you will be buying a dual action polisher and foam cannon.

I've already been shopping for both these items. Will be purchasing soon, any recommendations?
