So I'm planning on doing a few on my v6. I already have a spacer, and will be getting a CAI and muffler delete soon. Will that be causing any warranty issues?

I also really wanted a tune, I hear it makes a huge difference, specially with how the car feels. Will that give me any problem? Should you revert it to stock settings when you take it in for service? I know the history log should still tell if you messed around with the computer, but I hear they only check that in extreme cases...

So what can you guys tell me?

Spacer and CAI won't void any warranties. However, if something goes wrong and you take it to the dealership, don't be surprised if they try to pin it on the mods. It's a rare case but I've been there and heard other stories.

As for tune, I've been told it can void warranties, but there are ways around it. like you said, you can swipe it in any event you have to take it back to the dealership.
Still waiting to get a tune myself so I'm limited in knowing about all that

With a tune, the golden rule is to always revert it back to stock before any service repairs and also maintain a backup copy of your stock tune and keep it in a safe place.

Just thought I'd chime in since I had problems with one dealer.

Do it, they have to prove that the mod affected your car to cause the issue. Now even if you re-flash the computer after tuning, they can still find out if it's been tampered.

The v6 can be a great car you just need some mods to wake it up. Get a CAI, some gears (3.73), tune and exhaust. With these you should be well into low 13's, maybe with a hero run of 12.9.

ECU stores how many times its been flashed so reverting back to stock won't change anything. Unless you want to spend the money for a lawyer and fight Ford Motor Company in court because they refused to fix your car, i would suggest sticking to bolts on.

That said, getting a tune from a reputable tuner narrows the chances of something going wrong to very slim. As with everything, you gotta pay to play.. Also, if your rear right shock decides to give up on you randomly or anything else that has nothing to do with engine/tranny components, Ford has to fix it.

Agreed I had a tune on my v6 and now my ecoboost, no problems at all wouldn't imagine owning a sport car/muscle car without a tune it's just boring!
