Hey guys, seeing if any of y'all have any ideas about a problem I have been running into. After driving for a little and parking my car, it has no problem starting for about an hour or so. If it sits for an hour or more, like literally up to five hours, it has a hard time starting. If it sits overnight, it has no problems at all starting. I have no clue as to what the problem could be, otherwise the car runs great once started. Thanks for any ideas

The guy who tuned my car thinks it's my DW injectors. I know of one other guy with the same problem and same injectors and his tuner told him the same thing.

This is happening to a few people. There is a thread on it somewhere. Lund says its probably a fuel warming issue, not injectors. Mine had the same issues, switched to a fuel return and its gone. Same injectors. Annoying for sure.

I have this same issue. Using id1000's though. Ken and I have been trying to figure out the issue for the past 3 months. I know it's a tune issue though. I got a different tune from a different tuner and had no starting issues.

Yeah, I am getting basically told by Lund that it's not a tune issue as far as they are concerned so kick rocks lol. They're telling me they had one other person with the problem and they solved it from taking their boost a pump off of being continuously wired and putting in a tps switch instead. Anyone done that??

I hear people say things like this and wonder… What makes me so special? Lund works their ass off tuning cars.. They tuned five for me.. My S550 car was acting up when I added the blower. The car was hesitating at half throttle.. When I logged on to their site Lund Jr. answered my question two hours later. He apologized for for the delay and asked for a data log. Sent it to him he quickly responded and told me a few things to check before we change the tune.. Did what he said and it fixed my problem. If your car acts up and your tuner tells you to check a few things, do what he asks.

It can be solved with tuning no matter the injectors. (DW or ID)

The issue is that not all cars calibrations are the same.
And some react drastically different.

Logs of the event happening, help solve the issue.
Without logs of it, its like flying blind.

Kinda of "one of those things" that tuners fight when running injectors almost 5 times larger than what was installed in the original "5.0" motors back in the day.

That's great and I am happy for you, but I can tell you from experience and what I have heard from others that it isn't always the case. There was a point when it seemed like i was a priority and they were awesome to deal with. Now that I have a problem I seem like a burden lol. Oh well, that's why there's other people out there and forums like this to see if others have the problem and solutions. Other times you get people that critique everything, it's all part of the experience. Hopefully I get some help and answers from the helpful ones lol!!

When dealing with a tuner a few things to remember....

1) They are people...just like you. What does that mean? well that means they have families, they get sick, they have customers calling/texting/emailing 24-7, and they do the best they can to keep up, and juggle all of that.

2) Some customers well send files at 11:30pm on a Friday night... then at 6AM on a Sat morning another email saying "Hey, why isn't my file done? You suck, I am posting on FB that you suck"

3) Aftermarket tunes are dealing with aftermarket parts, stacked on top of aftermarket parts... sometimes there are some variances that need to be addressed.

4) This is NOT some OEM tune that was done in a muti-million dollar lab over the course of 3-5 years with testing all over the US and world. We are talking about something that costs a couple hundred bucks and gets done in the matter of hours or days.

Not to long ago, if you had a 750 rwhp car that didn't die at every stop sign, and could idle without your foot on the gas.... it was magic.

Now days, people want 750, 850, 1000rwhp... but literally be OEM perfect.
(and they also want the tune done in 2-4 hours)

It is odd how much expectations have changed so drastically in such a small amount of time. Though we are all lucky that there are some amazing tuners out there... and with the right kinda feedback/data and patience, I believe that nearly all of them can take great care of their customers and their cars.

Thats just my .02

Glad for all of your input, not necessary but thanks, I will keep it in mind next time I am looking where to spend my money on a supercharger system on my next vehicle though! Now back to if anyone can actually help or has had this type of issue, also if anyone has put in a tps switch onto the boost a pump instead of wired continuously. Thanks

I have a jms bap that is activated at 50% throttle so I'm not sure if your bap could be the issue.

Not saying in your case, but a lot of peoples "bucking/surging" at decent throttle stab is their foot on the pedal, especially like you said in track mode where it gets even more sensitive. I have pondered tearing apart the pedal sensor to find a stiffer spring for the pedal.

Fuel voltage should have zero bearing on your issue.

Though for the record the way we set out JMS boxes up, is that they don't come on until they see boost. (pressure switch)

Its very easy to change the "throttle" response for the different modes in the tune. The entire slope/curve can be adjusted easily. So before you take the pedal apart, you may have a tuner adjust that for you.
