Anybody running this blower ever look at your IATs? 24-25 degrees over ambient while just cruising. Did a pull 85-90% throttle and in about 6 seconds temps were at 168-170. Recovers well but need a better IC. Had I floored this bad boy temps would have easily been in the 180s. Temps were 94-95 yesterday morning when watching this.

What about a air to water IC? I have been trying to research this but had very little luck.

I went through this when I had my JTB. Had a 3.33 and 20% lower and IAT’s were just like yours. Had a custom intercooler made and it didn’t do a thing. Went meth injection 50/50 mix and IAT’s stayed down in the 80-90’s after a long long pull. So either water to air or meth.

So are you still doing “meth” with the Hellion kit ?

spinning the blower at max setup it will run a little hotter, but for e85 and 1050 to 1100 crank hp, thats not bad, and more than likely 90+ degree weather.

in 65-70, the standard intercooler at mid 9's doesn't do a bad job, low 9's to 8s, you'll need a bigger air to air.

problem with air to water for a street car, is heat soak. we have been doing this same setup for 7 years.

a bigger air to air does a great job, when we fab up larger core air to air, we normally see 140-150 iat in say 80 or so degree days on pulls, and again, recovers very quickly.

thats what makes these kits so great compared to the some of the other pd setups, make some back to back pulls on a dyno with one of these and a pd, and watch the hp change. lowest iats for a standard setup on the market

once you start playing with 1100-1200 hp cars. you aren't going to be like 100% stock

It seems like it would be easier to just run meth. Is there a downside to using the meth at the track that I am missing?
