Voodoo or Coyote?

Nope, link is blocked here at work. I assumed it was the same as this one where the intent was to design an FPC kit to drop into a Coyote.

Yeah this is what I don't buy into. If the article simply mentions using Voodoo upgrade parts but still keep it a CPC Coyote, why wait for Ford Performance when all of those are available right now from aftermarket(and reputable companies) like Livernois or Rich Groh?

The Coyote has been on the road since early 2010 so there are many experts out there ready to build it up. The Voodoo is still an unknown in the home-build world.

They are going to offer cams for flat & cross plane cranks. So you can build a VooDoo if you wish to. But I agree with using what we have and modifying them. It would be a cheaper option. The cross plane crank is "only" 5 pounds lighter. So not a huge savings there. I would think you could lighten up the coyote crank as well. It is nice FRPP will offer the stuff. But like most FRPP items, I think people will opt to use other options available for less money.

With all the vibration mitigation on the exhaust systems of the GT350, I'd be nervous of putting an FPC in a regular GT that doesn't include those mitigations.

Seems like a CPC in a voodoo block with the voodoo heads might give you very similar performance to a full Voodoo, but without the vibration concerns.

You get the updated block, the lightweight pistons and rods, the higher RPM capable valve train with the larger valves, etc.

Not sure how that would compare from a capability or price standpoint to a built Coyote, but might be an interesting approach.

Update from PRI:

N/A setup with GT350 heads and cam sounds pretty sweet (over 100 hp gain over stock), not sure if changing blocks is worth the extra 40 hp but that torque increase would be nice.

The 350 heads are the best heads Ford has released yet. The runners are much larger than a standard GT. We are putting a Whipple on our 350 and we have to really open up the runners on the Whipple manifold to match the 350 heads, other than that, it's all good. The 350 heads are also fully CNC machined in the runner and chambers. We have the heads available on the site for purchase (as well as other 5.2L parts), but you do need some small parts to make them compatible with a cross plane Coyote (cams, lash adjusters and rockers).

I definitely think these heads with some aggressive cams and a CJ manifold will make serious HP naturally aspirated.

But, technically, since most of the parts interchange, you could build a 5.2L coyote or a 5.0L voodoo with matching valvetrain.
