So since I have a VIN my car should get produced? I’m going to be irritated if I waited all this time to get pushed into 2021 and lose Grabber Lime. I know Ford can’t predict a pandemic but this model year has been cursed. Its getting to the point I’m starting to eye some other cars and take advantage of some current deals.
Has your car moved into production? My interpretation is that if the car has started the build process, it will be finished as a 2020. If it has has a VIN but has NOT started production, it's more than likely going to be a 2021.

Soo...
  • Does anyone have a guess as to how many GT500s will be produced in the 2020 MY? 1200? 1500? 2000?
  • How limited will the 2020 GT500 Base and CFTP be?
  • Has a limited MY run been cut short before?
I think the number is 1,500 +/- 250
Very limited
Not that I have heard

I would like to see a breakdown by color....

Just got off the phone...

To better clarify, all 2020 GT350/GT500s that have a VIN are considered scheduled for production and will be produced. All GT500 orders not currently having a VIN will be pushed back to 2021. At this point, the GT350 will not be produced in 2021. I just spoke with a dealer who is relieved to receive confirmation from Ford today that his two sold and pending Golden Tickets are confirmed to be built due to both having VINs and both are considered in production.

The same goes for other Ford vehicles, including the F150 which may equate to as many as 50,000 trucks not produced in 2020. This has the performance industry up in arms as the performance production year is essentially over. Typically, they receive the bulk of their base model orders toward the end of the production year. Shelby, Tuscany, Roush, Saleen, and other performance partners are all in the same boat.

June will be the end of the Ford production year to allow retooling for the 2021 MY vehicles. I can only guess the C8 will have similar challenges as well.

Don't blame the messenger, blame the Corona Virus. :crying:

So the making of the cars with a VIN assigned this year would be contingent on the Factory resuming production prior to the June Closure date? So if the resumption date and the closure date of June does not allow time to get the vehicles made would they move out the closure date?

Thank you; this is all helpful information; I do appreciate your clarification. Do you think these will get built in order or any chance customer orders will get pushed up? I may be grossly underestimating the market for this car (in light of the health and financial crisis we are facing) but my gut tells me that customer orders should be a higher priority. As opposed to filling more dealer lots with cars where they are going to just sit while they try to extract high ADMs. And to be clear I’m not offering any opinion on ADMs-just simply stating it appears to me if there was huge line of people willing to spend 20-30 over sticker than as soon as they popped up on eBay they’d be bought.

So does this mean my VIN would be canceled and I have to play the waiting game again or just my window sticker would say 2021 on it with my current VIN? What does this mean for my 2020 specific color option then?

To be honest, I do not know. I would like to think the VINs assigned will be built as ordered, just as a 2021 model.

New VINS generated would follow 2021 order bank guidelines.

Again, I do not know, and I am not sure anyone does at this point in the game.

No, I am not told that the GT350 will be produced in 2021.

Congratulations!

That is my understanding.

I think that would be a question for snoop dog if your information turns out to be correct.

Chassis #1393 sitting at Andy Mohr Ford in Indy (in production on 3.10.20) ... another week of production after that (~150)... so while no one knows how many are in various states (or sitting in a storage lot)... or when production will return (if it does)... but I would guess 1,500+ have already been produced... with an estimate of 150 a week (if, when) production resumes

If June is said to be the end of 2020 production and this pandemic trend continues we may all be looking at 2021 models. The projections show a peak mid April and its not significantly better until entering June.

There is a good chance that the 2020 MY will end in Oct, maybe later. Time will tell.
