Vertical link HELP

Got a set of BMR vertical links. Extremely difficult to get the bottom bolt in. Finally got it lined up enough to get the thread to catch. Any suggestions on that are welcome(only finished one side. Doing the other tomorrow). My problem is that the top bolt only gets so tight. I can't torque it to spec. Torqued bottom bolt to 81. Switched top factory bolt to the one supplied by Bmr. I held the nut on the back and try to tighten the bolt and it spins but won't get tight pay a certain point. Any ideas?

Hard to tell from your description but it sounds like you stripped the bolt and or nut by cross threading it. But maybe I'm not following along?

Did my steeda verticals today, Do the bottom first then pry the top into place, its a PITA but its the way I got mine in.

If you are having issues with the top rear bolt you probably stripped it or its just spinning in the back. I had my friend hold a breaker bar on it while I torqued.

For the Steeda links did you reuse the top factory bolt? The BMRs replace the factory bolt

Ok so I had the huge issue getting the new links in. Here is what I did and the links slipped right in.

when you have the stock link out, lower the car down slowly. I lowered mine down on blocks of wood, so that the bottom of the rotor would hit the wood and by doing that it widened the gap of where the two ends go. the bottom went in first easy and I threw the first bolt in. The top at this point didn't line up with the hole so I had my buddy jack up the car slowly and the holes came into alignment. Took me really getting pissed off and a smashed finger to figure this out. Super easy if you do it this way.

Give me a PM if you want to call me for further explanation. The instructions from BMR need to mention you have to do what I mentioned above to get these to go in easily.

I am not sure of the issue - the only thing I can think of, is you stripped the threads.

To clarify here, the lower bolts are to be torqued to 129ftlbs, the upper bolt is 81ftlbs.

From what you have stated (PM) you did the opposite, and that is your issue.

Send me another PM with your address and I will get some bolts sent out, OR....go to the store and acquire them.

M12 x 1.75 threads and they are 100mm (4") long.

Keep me updated.

Yes I just checked and I torqued the upper bolt to 129 instead of the lower which stripped it. I guess that's what happens when it's dark and I spent hours installing other parts before that lol. I really like the cb005 btw.

Can't see it harming it. The whole assembly the rotor is attached to moves up and down. If you give it a shot you will laugh at how easy it is to get the new vertical link installed.

I recently got a set of BMR, double spherical vertical links. After taking the wheels off, it literally took me 8 minutes a side to remove the OEM links and install these. Good stuff!

Now my only problem is getting the stripped bolt off since it just spins

You either need to cut it off, or you can try to pull on the bolt head side (pry) and try to get the nut to catch on a good thread. I doubt that will work, but its worth a shot.
