Does these risk hydro locking? I go through tunnel car wash. It doesn’t spray water right into my car but it may get some in there.

I can’t see it doing any harm. I’m using oem airbox with oil filter. Water would get sucked into filter yeah? Wouldn’t it simply dry from air passing by? Can water vaporized particles cause any issues?

I want to make sure no issues from hard rain or wash before I commit.

Does water just sit there pooled up? Or does it drain somehow. I can simply stick rag in there and absorb the water if not

I have seen some of your post about the big mouth kit and it seems like you are overthinking it. It doesn't change where the air is coming from or the size of the opening. Besides, at least I think, looking good, its main purpose is bridging the gap between the stock snorkel and the grille. This smooths the air flow and prevents backwash from the radiator.

There's no worry in this situation. Your engine bay regularly sees water in the form of mist through the front grille. Hydrolocking is really only an issue when you are talking about a water crossing. Think water halfway up your wheels.

I've got a JLT CAI on my car with pretty wide hood vents and have never had a problem with water. I've driven through sun, rain, heavy rain, hail, snow, ice, tropical storms, and even 1 or 2 hurricanes or tornados. If my car sits for awhile after a nice heavy rain, the only thing that happens is you see steam rise up out of the engine bay as the car warms up.

99.999999999999999999 % (can't say 100%) chance you will not risk any sort of hydrolocking.

If anything it'll cool off the incoming air, making your engine a happy camper.

No more so than the stock setup

It'll dry, it's not like gallons are going in.

Well I ordered a set for $80 bucks off someone. Rev2 they are red, but I’m going to paint them blue.

Should I add extra clear for rocks or bad idea?
