No, it's not.

All-season tires give away some warmer weather performance in exchange for slightly/somewhat better performance in cold or snowy weather.

I think for some tires it's wishful thinking to say only "some" warm weather performance is sacrificed - let's just say it's a good thing that BFG's KDWS tires are no longer available (like skating on ice in a wet corner in 4th gear, and that's with me very delicately tip-toeing on the throttle).

Thats weird Norm,
I have UHP summer Mickey Thompson's on my daily driver, and there's a daily monsoon here in sofla, never had a traction issue...

Don't expect the discussion to not widen past your specific sub-topic.

FWIW, I've had decent experience with the Icon blades (the driver side one in her car does chatter a bit when there isn't enough water on the windshield to keep it lubricated). But I won't use any coating on the windshield. Not Rain-X or anybody else's. Ever. Not even the stuff in washer-bottle solutions.

It's certainly not what most tire commercials and other advertising (which indirectly includes Ford and other car mfrs) would lead you to believe.

When I swapped the KDWSs out for a set of GY's original Asymmetrics I was surprised at being able to drive this one curve in the rain in 3rd gear with leading throttle where I could barely touch the throttle enough to maintain speed in 4th with the KDWS without feeling the tail trying really hard to slide out from underneath me.

Yea, tires are important, as well as clutch engagement and gas pedal aggression.
As far as rainex, as the red hits commercial says, I put that shit on everything lolol

I've only had one "Oh Sh@t" moment in the rain, with this car. I was traveling on the interstate where the speed limit is 70mph, I was at 80 maybe it was dry out however in Florida it can be dry in your yard and raining at your neighbor's house. As I was driving the pavement went from dry to about an inch or so of water (it had just rained) and due to 275s up front and 295s out back the car began to hydroplane never lost it all the way, but it was definitely a "need new underwear now moment".

Man, sounds rough. I have a current 255 front 275 rear set up, feels a bit weird to me in comparison to my average 235 width tires I've had in my other vehicles

Slippery When Wet

Yeah I've had a few times where my Mustangs get all lose in the rear.
Today I ran across this pic and I thought to myself here is an instance
where I want it to break right down the middle. I hope that was a hole in one.
