The original rev 1 fit the 2015 S550s, I think somewhere along the line, Ford changed something behind the grille. I think it is the hex pocket, it became deeper. Visually it looks no different from the front of the car, but from behind the hex pocket the geometry had changed and caused serious binding when the big mouth was installed.

About a year ago, I made the design revision to accommodate all the changes Ford made to their stock GT grilles. Fortunately, this new accommodation allowed people with Cervini's griles, MMD-V grilles and RTR grilles to also be able to fit big mouths. That's the story in a nutshell. There were no new design revisions since then. :amen:

so if i have a 2016 gt, and may get an rtr grill down the road, i should get the version 2?

You will get the rev 2 no matter what, thats the only revision we sell. We are also going to make both the RTR and standard GT grille design interchangeable, you will be ok :cheers:

Thank you! Just ordered a black one. Looking forward to installing this.

Installed it yesterday. Looks great! I started to hollow out the honey combs but i could see this would take forever. Took my Dremel and cut out the whole section. Way easier and still looks great.

I have a strong suspension that a large enough Japanese saw would be the very best method to expose the honeycomb cells. Just saw off the backside at the appropriate depth, followed by sanding it smooth.

Do you have any photos of the Dark Gray color? I purchased a set of dual Yellow Big Mouths a few months ago, but am considering going with something a little more stealthy. Just trying to decide between Black and Dark Gray.

Been searching for, but can't find, pics of the dual big mouth kit and setup. I'd like to see how it's routed and what all there is to it.

I plan on staying NA, but eventually cams and intake. Not sure if I'll really need the dual but wanted to see what it's all about.

The 'dual mouth' kit comes with a functional Big Mouth for the driver's side that routes air into the intake (stock or most aftermarket options) and a second Big Mouth for the passenger's side that is just a cosmetic piece to make the setup symmetrical on both sides of the grille.

Installation is extremely straight forward for both sides after you've removed the front bumper.
