I just know I'm not going to let my idiot brother drive it! He'll put that thing on the side of the road before I know it. That's what makes me feel like I need Depends!
Suggest that you leave active handling and traction control on for quite some time. :D

HELL YES! I'm not going to mess with anything besides the "sport" steering wheel setting. I'm not trying to float across the road with the other modes.

How about the difference between the 3.55 gears vs the 3.73? And by the way, what type of limited slip differential is the 3.55?

To the OP: These guys are NOT embellishing! I drove race cars of many flavors for about 25 years, and the first time I really "drove" the little woman's GTA, I could only utter: "WOW!". My first car was a '68 gto ram air IV 4spd, and in a race, this thing would absolutely eat it's lunch before the 60ft mark, and never look back! be prepared for the ride of your life. I told the little woman that if she EVER get's tired of the car, It's gonna get a Paxton supercharger kit and move to MY side of the garage.

You're getting me nervous! I literally didn't sleep last night over this. A combination of nerves (not being able to drive it well), anxiousness (the $$), and excitement (the power!). Can't wait.

Just use your head, it is easy to drive sensibly but take your time. Onramps are a ton of fun, that is for sure!

Another really trick thing about the 6 speed stick is the hill hold function. When the car senses it is stopped w/ the nose up on a hill, when you take your foot off the brake to hit the gas, it automatically holds the brakes on until the car moves.

Some guys with the PP and 3.73 gears think it's almost too low geared in the first few gears, so seems like 3.55 gears is the sweet spot when behind the manual. 3.55 gears is the lowest you can get in the automatic and are probably a good match also. The 3.55 differential is not the Torsen ... that is only with the 3.73 diff on the 5.0 with PP.

I had a rented base GT 6spd for a week when I went to Atlanta earlier this spring. I have to believe the rental company didn't spring for the deeper gears, so it most likely had the 3:55s in it. I LOVED the hill assist. I felt however, that for daily driving duties, 1st gear was just about un-needed. MOST of the time, I used 2,4,5, and then 6 ONLY over 50 MPH. For the week, my average was 22 MPGs! This was in the daily debacle that is 575- for you guys that live there. 1st gear was awesome for going down on-ramps- I hit 90mph WITHOUT SHIFTING, and never once bounced it off the rev limiter! That's nuts…… All in all, if you can live without the "goodies", The base GT is absolutely the steal of the decade- bar none.

Thanks. Matt Farah mentioned in one of his videos that the Mustang with 3.55 would be ideal for him as a DD, if he were to buy one.

What? ... you hit 90 MPH in first gear without hitting the rev-limiter? My data shows that with 3.31 gears in 1st gear the max speed is ~45 MPH at redline.

If this was a rental car, it probably has the stock 3.31 differential. The 3.55s are the "deeper gears" for a non-PP car with a 6-speed.
