It's a good thing for me that she's about 2700 miles away, rather than in the car with me, because I'd be likely to get in trouble...

I'm the same way. The weather has been either cold and raining or cold and dry and it feels like the car loses traction under me even taking it easy so while I am getting used to the car, and while the weather sucks, I'm being gentle with it.

I tend to just cruise nice and easy and I'm content doing it.

I get a lot of Honda Civics and the like trying to cut in front of me, etc. I just let them because I have nothing to prove to them.

Agreed on that last part - but I don't have the weather to blame. I only take the car out when it's nice. It never feels like it's losing traction, it feels more like it's just giving me these little, smug warnings saying "You think you can handle this?"
