Do you track your M1 ?
The 15/17 mt 82 have good ratio and do not overheat doing open track, even in triple digits weather
As for the differential it is a well known fact that using 75/140 and wrapping the pipes around the differential completely solve that issue
Not talking w2w here
The M1 is a very nice car but way too many owners believe that they have an exotic car… even faster than a gt350… right.. please…..
I love the way some people repeat hearsay and present them as facts
15-17 doesn't have the temp sensors so you wouldn't know. That being said, if you change the fluid regularly based on your track usage you are probably OK. The fluid change and wrap doesn't work 100% as my old PP2 still had warnings a couple of times with those mods done.
Lightning Lap where the Mach 1 beat the GT350R time doesn't help. Some people don't realize how much the weather and track can change lap times.

I always thought that anyone with S550 would be silly to buy Mach 1. If you have some handling issue, you can solve it with aftermarket and that's it. Even the stripes :giggle:

Mach 1 is a great buy for those who didn't have S550 before because you don't really need to tweak it (it's maxed out already) - not the suspension, airbox, coolers, brakes, transmission. It has active exhaust, magneride and some other things you can't have that easily but perhaps you don't need them, even for track. Keep your good looking S550, that's the right way to do. Especially the PP2, unless you really want the Tremec and the coolers.
I had a PP2 and went to a Mach 1. Basically I wanted the best manual track Mustang I can could get before the 2024 restyling. Plus have the Tremec, coolers, aero...yes it was a big jump in price but I don't plan to mod the Mach 1 much at all. Just a watson 4 point hopefully by next year. Another set of track wheels/tires and I should good until my warranty is up.

Ok, let me try to answer
Stock for stock:
350R
350
M1 handling package
Pp2
M1
Pp1
Gt

...
Pretty much correct. You could get more granular by putting the 19/20 GT350 over the 15-17 GT350 since they changed tires. The PP2 only beats a base Mach 1 because of tires. Many of these cars on the same tires would come down to driver.

You can assume that 2024 Dark Horse > 2021-2023 Mach 1 because of more hp and otherwise pretty much everything beside the look the same. So you might get that.
That little bit of power won't make much difference. Now the upgraded brakes might but many track guys I've talked to say the GT PP(PP2, Mach1) brakes are plenty. With good fluid and pads of course. However, a buddy with a GT350 was out braking a Boss 302S regularly at a local track. The 302S driver has way more laps on that track than the GT350 also.

Agree with most of it except that the 17 do have a differential temperature sensor

The TREMEC alone is worth it, but add in the active coolers for the diff and transmission, the far better looking front and rear fascia's, and all the stuff a PP GT gets and I'd say it is worth the price jump. Of course, if you buy an automatic MACH1, you've made the wrong choice and definitely should have bought a GT
I just bought a 23 Mach 1 with the 10 speed and she loves it,never thought I’d see her in a mustang, but her scat pack shaker in pcp was stolen 2 weeks ago which was her baby, but she does not want to go through that again, cause there has been an uptick in challengers and chargers as of late, hopefull We’ll have better luck.

I have no clue as to why there's a good number of used Mach 1's out there for sale. I've really been loving mine, which I happened to buy used with only 3-months and 700 miles on it from the first owner.

I work from home and only put about five to seven thousand miles a year on a car. My Mach 1 will likely be the last Mustang I ever buy, given the current trend towards electric propulsion and automatic transmissions. I personally don't find the S650 very appealing. Certainly not appealing enough to make me trade in my Mach 1. So what if the Dark Horse has 20 more horsepower and some chassis bits that are better than me? Big deal. I have manual buttons, knobs and switches, plus a true hand brake. Besides, who cares about a small HP difference in a daily-driven street car? If I ever get the itch for more power down the road, super- or turbo-charging is always an option.

I've only got 1,600 miles on it at the moment, but when my M1 hits 70 or 80k miles a decade from now, there's a good chance I'll transition it to being just a weekend/vacation car in order to prolong its life. Not for future financial gain, but for the ability to experience driving a 6-speed V8 for many years to come.

I would tell anyone who's on the fence about buying a Mach 1 to go find a gently used one in the color they like, and don't ever look back. Unless of course you're looking back at it after parking somewhere. 😎

Its simple. ADM. Dealers put that garbage on the Mach and people didn't buy it. Dealer by me has 15 Broncos on the lot all with 25K ADM. Not selling. Bullits all sat around here with the 25k ADM also.

$25k ADM is INSANE. The new 6-speed manual Supra only has about $5k ADM tacked on top of the MSRP. Then again, the C8 Corvette still has crazy asking prices, whether new or used. At this point, I don't know who's more ludicrous, the dealers for asking that much over MSRP, or the public for paying it.

I just bought a new 2023 M1 w/ HP, EP, AP, Tremec, Recaro. Not many manuals with HP out there to choose from and if you want one, the color better not matter much because they are hard to find. There was one car available in my state with the options I wanted and I bought it.
I was wanting a 350 but after seeing that all of the used ones near me had their motors pulled at some point and the fact that the Voodoo isn’t available as a crate I opted for the M1 with Tremec.

I was perusing auto trader, today, and was amazed at the large inventory of USED M1's with between 15 miles to -2000 miles max and many others well under 5,000 miles.

What is the deal on this trend? Seats? ride?
Owner dissatisfaction? Am I missing something?
I'd say everything you mentioned are legitimate reasons. The same thing happened with the GT350s after the first 12-16 months.

People hating the recaros ( their own fault)
People being surprised by the costs to own (insurance, gas, tires, also their own fault)
Higher earning individuals like having the latest - some are ditching M1s for new BMW M cars, C8s, etc. Those people will buy the newest thing, weekend drive it, then sell it after a year or two when it's old news.

Absolutely LOVE my '22 GT! 😁
yep, GTs are awesome no doubt. But the Mach 1 package just checked all the boxes for me.

Everything all ready listed plus a few more...

People buying a 6 Speed because its engaging, then find out it sucks in traffic (their own fault)
People buying a 10 speed automatic because of its great performance, then find out its boring (their own fault)
People buying it thinking its a Shelby GT350R w/a Coyote engine. Then find out its NOT. (their own fault)
People buying it to relive or replace a different "favorite car" they might have owned, ridden in or had many fond memories of. Then finding out it cant compete with a dream. (their own fault)

I will be the first to admit that I have committed most of these sins myself, at one time or another.
I am NOT a "higher earning individual"...I'm just a working class car guy, looking for "The One"
