Any news on the new harness you were working on? I'd be interested in the processing elimination.
the harness and obdII programmers are both now available

It is both the harness and the programmer.
Quote:This custom-built harness by infotainment.com is designed to allow the user the ability to replace their factory amplifier with an aftermarket amplifier fully plug & play! The included F-AUD OBD Genie programmer will reprogram your radio ACM to turn off factory processing allowing for the low level RCA on the harness to work instantly.

I have read all 29 pages of this thread and did not see the answer to my question.

Is there anyone with an aftermarket amp that can be put in the factory amp location (driver kick panel)? Whether direct fit or with slight modification? I want to upgrade the amp but i would like to avoid mounting in the trunk if possible.

I'm not sure of who did it but it was a JL Audio XD600/6. It was a clean install.

I've searched every way I can think of through the forums to find this install and I'm coming up blank. All i can find is under seat which appears to be an issue with the powrred seats. Any chance you have the thread you can link?

This was discussed in the As Built thread in the DIY section of this forum (snipped and pasted below, I take no credit just passing it along for those who have not been following that thread):

It is possible to reprogram the ACM to send out a flat line level out (approx 4 Volt preamp out) for sound out of the existing speaker wiring instead of regular high levels that are sound processed by the factory radio and/or Sony DSP (if equipped). This makes using an aftermarket Amp way easier as it will have the pure unmodified sound as if using regular RCA Pre-Amp Outs. Also makes for better audio tuning as the bass won't be cut off as the volume goes up on the stock configuration. This mod works on all Fusion ACM's, with or without MyFord Touch / Sony. Also allows for removal / disconnection of the Sony Amplifier in the back of the trunk.

This mod can be done with FORScan w/ODBLink MX Adapter:
727-01-01 xx5A xxxx xxxx
727-01-02 00xx
(ACM As-Built)

Hi.. yeah the best bang for the buck is turning off the processing.. it really makes a difference.. you can actually enjoy your new speakers..

Ford puts so much processing into the radio to protect the factory equipment that it really makes it hard to upgrade.

If you decide you want to do it just PM me and I can get you fixed up.. I will need to know if you are adding an amp for your kids and highs or just replacing the speakers..

Thanks Guys!
Is this for us 12 speaker 401a Shaker-Pro folks too? :D
I want to do a speaker-only upgrade and get the most out of it...
[Edit: All Stock Shaker-Pro, HU, Amp and speakers - I want to get all the sound to the updated speakers]

So do you happen to know if I can do this ABD mod if I'm just doing a speaker upgrade for now (no amp)?
Later down the road I'd like to add an amp, but for now I just want higher quality speakers, but I still do not want the radio dropping bass down at higher volume levels.

Did that make sense?

Yep, we're after the same thing.
I contacted OEMRadio via the website (no answer here) and was told that they can't do anything for the folks that just want to upgrade speakers. I specifically asked for:

Disable Automatic Noise Cancelling (ANC)
Disable Engine Sound Enhancement (ESE) - EcoBoost
Alter the processor to eliminate clipping
Alter the processor crossover points

The replies ranged from "Unfortunately we can not do that" to "I do not know, we dont [sic] mess with changing speakers" :(

I figured I'd ask this here since this thread has more traction than others.. I've asked elsewhere but got no response. Sorry if its been answered.. I've read everything and don't recall seeing it.

I'd like to upgrade my rear speakers. I've got dual 12s in the back handling sub bass, and the fronts seem to handle midrange+, maybe even a little low midrange, however bass frequencies seem to be missing entirely. I prefer the rear handling bass-low midrage, but the stock speakers are garbage and/or are overprocessed.

How much processing is done on the rears? Is it possible to modify ACM to send line level to only the rears? If not, would the speaker below work on the stock amp? I see varying answers for rear impedance/wattage. 17 GT Prem, 9 speaker, not 401A.

Thanks.
