You are correct it isn't clear (to me at least.) It could mean the difference between waiting 2 more weeks for a VIN and 4 to 6 more weeks for a VIN. If I have to wait another month to month and a half just for a VIN I'm bailing out. :(
I heard all production has stopped for fast backs for the start of convertible production. It really sucks!Thanks but I'm not sure we are on the same page. Let me try again. And I've sent Rachel at FordService a PM to clarify as well. She may be the only thing keeping me hanging on. ;)
Will Ford still process retail fastback orders on 10/16 by assigning a VIN number and a November build week? ….OR…..
Will Ford totally ignore/deny ALL outstanding buildable retail fastback orders until November , THEN assign a VIN and build week?
That is what I'm trying to see has been confirmed or not.
Hopefully, they will produce just enough for the warm weather states and change back to coupes ASAP. Doesn't make sense to populate cold weather states with converibles at this time of the year except to place ONE in a showroom for each dealership.
That is what I'm trying to figure out. Separate the rumor from truth. Fastbacks will continue to be produced all the way through the week of 11/2. If they stop fastback production at that time and do only verts I'm going to bail. I need more info but not sure I can get it.
It doesn't make sense to do as you say but a lot of this shit in this process doesn't make common sense so I'm not optimistic. :( I hope you are right.
That isn't right. the cars that are already scheduled to be produced should continue to be produced. Or they wouldn't (shouldnt) of scheduled them.
yea....if my car that is already scheduled for 10/26 isn't going to be produced and they gave me a vin anyways just to say hey yea it wont happen for a while im bailing too. just going to say screw it and pick up whatever is on the lot

This. Convertibles will get VINs on 10/16, so we hear. Their build weeks will be 11/9, 11/16, etc. That doesn't affect those with VINs.
I'm 85% sure this is true. However, Free Agent, this is just more cars and allocations to compete with for your VIN. tell your dealer that he better not even THINK about putting a convertible order in for his allocation when he still has yours.
X-plan is slightly above invoice. I just went through USAA's car-buying program (if you bank with then, do it!) They basically use Tru-car but still keeps it tied to USAA, and if you finance with USAA and use their car-buying program you get 0.5% lower interest rate, which is already super-low. With this I can get 1.75% load for 72 months or 1.5% for 60 months! :shocked: The prices they gave me back were within a couple of hundred dollars of X-plan price (once you factor in the dealer's allowed $100 doc fee). They gave me three dealers in Denver area (at first I did Springs, but the prices were better in Denver; more dealers to fight for your business!). Two of the three didn't show prices right away but I got one dealer showing a price that is almost identical to X-plan. The other two dealers called me within an hour of submitting my info to USAA and will be getting back to me with prices. I don't have a favorite dealer so the lowest bidder wins IMO!
