I would guess its a Stock order considered what date it was ordered,
ORDERED ON: 06/07/2014.

Seems that the people that ordered really early got Stock and most the people that ordered later got retail.
I dont think so. Some people ordered 5/20 and still got retail.

You could buy stock with x-plan
Is this within Ford's dealership rules? According to my dealer, any car with a retail purchase agreement MUST be placed as a retail order. They refused to place my X-Plan order as stock due to this restriction.

I would bet its up to the dealer to decide. I guarantee your dealer didn't want your cheap car overriding one of their overpriced lot cars...

It's actually very open. Ford leaves dealerships a whole lot of leeway. They could order a stock car and sell to you at x plan, or invoice, or even give it to you if they wanted. That's between you and the dealership. Ordering retail only puts your name on it from the day it's ordered. The price is still between you and the dealership.

Technically, even x plan participating dealers are not required to x plan the mustang, or even any ordered car. Those decision are strictly up to the dealer. X plan requirements are that it be chosen from dealer stock, and only things like fusions, trucks, etc. I don't remember the actual list. Disclaimer: it's been a long time since I read the rules from ford. Could very well have changed, but I don't think so since many people are not able to get x plan on same car from other dealers.

One other thing, can you tell me if my order was a retail or stock order and what the priority code is? 490r F13058 Thanks

Hello Michael,

Your priority code is 10. This means the dealer has your vehicle as one of the 1st orders. I recommend checking in with your dealer for additional details to your order as he will be in the best position to assist.

Since you ordered with the X-plan through your dealer it’s automatically a retail order.

Have a great day! :D

Tricia

Thanks Tricia, that's good to know

You can get xplan with either one. However, a dealer is more likely to turn you away on a stock, considering that they are going to make a killing off that to some noob.

If that is true, I would have to say you are the first retail order to a VIN number, which is actually a very good sign for the rest of us.

Also, I would think the "r" in my order number may mean retail (490r)
That doesnt mean anything i dont think. mine is S355, but I have priority 10 so its not stock.
