For the past several years I've been planning on buying the 50th anniversary Mustang. Prior to production timelines being published, I was certain that I would be able to buy it mid April, 2014. Separately, during the later half of last year, my wife and I were contemplating having another child. The 2015 Mustang was introduced in December 2013. My wife and I found out she was pregnant in January 2014. I ordered my 2015 Mustang the week order banks opened - retail order, priority 10. The due date for our little man is set for October 9, 2014. After hoping for April, my next hope was that I would have it, at the latest, before our son arrives, but now it looks like that isn't going to happen either. Oh, well, the end of this year is going to be great for me with a new Mustang and a new son. Plus, Arizona winters provide perfect Mustang weather. I do find it intriguing however that we can have an actual baby before Ford can go from introduction to key fob in hand of my new Mustang.
First off, congratulations on your baby boy! Also, I agree with DivineStrike that you should present your story to Ford and try to get something worked out, that would be awesome.

I have a question for everyone that shows their order in production... I placed my order at my dealer on May 23. The Ford site shows the order was placed on June 14. It is order R304 and it still shows in order processing. Anyone near that seen theirs in production or whats up? Am I looking at November?? Ouch
I placed my order July 21st, my order date shows August 25th. The order date changed on my order, on COTUS, when I changed some options on my order. I spoke with Ford Service and my Sales manager and they both confirmed that it will not affect the order my car will be built in. I am guessing you possibly did the same thing...

Before relocating to Florida in 1997 I lived in Western MA. Exactly 305 miles and a 4 and a half hour drive each way from my driveway to Downtown Montreal. Made the Trip at least 4 times a year. Hockey, Baseball, Smoked Meat, Lauentide Biere, Poutine, and "Gentlemen`s Clubs" lol. I like Toronto too and Rob Ford as well. If I could deal with cold weather and gloomy rainy conditions, Victoria or Vancouver, BC would be attractive too. Sorry, once you get used to Palm Trees, there`s no going back to Maple and Pine. Cheers eh?
There are tons of Pine trees in Florida, ;)

I ordered my s550 ecoboost pp on May 20th(1st day possible) and my order is still in processing, yet I see all these orders with vin #s in production.
Can anyone help with why or how to correct this situation.
Why don't dealers order our cars as dealer stock so we can get
them earlier???
Thanks Rick
Probably because you asked for a special order car and they didn't explain the differences. Is the dealer you ordered from getting an Ecoboost? These first cars are where the bugs get worked out during manufacturing, when Ford knows they got it down, then they start to schedule retail orders. You can search for a car configured the way you want that is being built now and buy it from that dealer (use build and price) or wait. Either way it will be weeks before any car hits the West Coast.

Congrats on the new additions, not sure whether premium gas or formula will cost you more. Your timing could land you with a car built on the same day as your little man is born. I think that would be cool, especially if you kept it for him until he got his DL. Keep us updated here on the progression of both. :)

Oh yea and for some reason I always miss out on the first thing I should obviously say lol

Congrats on having a kid man!:clap2::headbonk::doh:

You pretty much answered your own question, cause yours is retail. But it's completely up to the dealer to order stock, just have to find one that'll will, or try to have them change it. It might not matter anymore by now though..

Congrats on the kid! My first kid will be born in late December, a son. I, like you, am hoping to have my keys before the little guy arrives! I look forward to many weekend drives in the Mustang with my son in tow.

Hi Rick, You ordered your car on the same day I did. The dealer put yours in as a Retail order, which it was. My dealer, after I asked really nicely, put mine in as a Stock order. Ultimately, he sold me one of his allocations.

There have been several threads dedicated to who is better off, the stock buyer who might have build issues since the cars were built early in the run, or the retail orders who have to wait a couple extra months, but get a car from an assembly line that has been well tuned. I won't argue the benefits of either, and won't know until after time passes, but I should have my car next month.

BTW, My car was scheduled to be "born" today (8/26) based on my car's window sticker. (Since it is a dealer stock order, I just searched his inventory for my car.) I'm waiting for Tricia to tell me if it was born healthy .

Following your progress Don, curious how long the shipping stage will take since I'm a few hours south of you.

Your window sticker says the day it was built or is going to be built?

A lot of the guys who ordered their cars from July until the present naturally aren't going to be as annoyed as the guys who beat down the doors on the week of May 20th to place orders under the assumption we would have the car earlier than November/December. We have 3 months of extra aggravation.

My buddy just ordered a 2015 BMW M235i last week and he will get it within 8 weeks- months before me. That's fuc*ing obnoxious. The only consolation I have is that car his sucks.

Trust me, you will hear every step of the way :) Although, you can track it directly if you want, the VIN is listed on the picture below. I just got this new link to search for my car and it worked for the first time! If you haven't been able to use the standard cotus site to track your order, try http://wwwqa.cotus.ford.com/

My car entered production today! :clap2:

The rollout and celebration of the 50th anniversary of this car BY FORD has been less than ideal at BEST, if not for sites like this what would you know about it?
