Searched through the threads and could not find any reference to anyone running a tank under hood for their setup. I don't want to loose use of my washer reservoir otherwise I would go that route. If anyone has any ideas or seen anything done I would love to hear about it. My car has a paxton on it so very little under hood room. Thanks.

Can’t you just use the washer reservoir with washer fluid and have the best of both worlds?

AI says:

Yes, you can use windshield washer fluid in a methanol injection kit, and it is a common, cost-effective alternative to professional premixed fluids like
Boost Juice.
However, there are specific requirements to ensure you don't damage your engine or the injection system:
  • Choose the "Winter Blend": Only use blue washer fluid rated for -20°F or colder. These typically contain about 30–35% methanol, whereas summer blends may have little to none.
  • Avoid Additives: Do not use fluids with "bug wash," rain repellent (like Rain-X), or detergents. These additives can leave deposits that clog your spray nozzles or contaminate the system.
  • Check for Glycol: Never use washer fluid containing glycol, as it can ruin the injection pump and lines.
  • "Spiking" for Performance:Because standard -20°F fluid is only ~30% methanol, many enthusiasts "spike" it by adding 100% methanol products like HEET Gas-Line Antifreeze (yellow bottle) to reach a more effective 50/50 mixture.
  • Dye Risks: Be aware that the blue dye in standard washer fluid can occasionally crystallize over time, potentially leading to clogs if the system is not maintained.
