I've daily driven a 2004 Mach 1 the last 144,000 miles - with very stiff Eibach Sportlines, Tokico Illuminas (set on 5 up front)
Illumi-harsh-nas? Glutton for punishment would be more like it. And I still like a ride that's firm as long as it doesn't go 'ka-blam' over a railroad grade crossing.

Ford's MRC tuning is almost certainly going to be biased toward understeer (if only slightly), and being able to tweak it like you would 'conventional' adjustable shocks & struts should still net you some lap time improvement. Especially if you can tweak the front and rear dampings independently.

It might be nice if one of the things you could tweak was what the dampers default to in the event of signal loss to the MRC module. OE's probably default to full-soft - I've heard pretty reliably that this is what the Camaro's MRC does - which might be an unwelcome surprise if a random bit of OPR or other debris takes out a suspension sensor wire while you were running hot laps.

If you click on the link to the Corvette forum you can read Mike Levitas' comments for yourself. The Corvette guys are fortunate to have a Daytona 24 winner contributing to their discussion.
So, where does it quote Levitas and Pobst as saying the DCS tune being better than the R's?

I don't know why everyone assumes levitas and pobst said it was better then an R.

I get that suspension tunning can make a difference just like engine tunning. However!!!! Making false claims during a debatable topic to make a point is sad.

Michael Levitas, Randy Pobst, many more. They have been working with the Delphi system for a couple years and its getting really, really good. Now with their new relationship with RideTech suspension the program has some really good traction and is becoming a reality to bring to market.

I was told by a shop that's heavily into mustang suspension and design. But I never mentioned any names. He said it was better than an R. Nobody else. That's why I didn't mention his name or business.

Ridetech has been developing and designing suspension for 21 years and has been beyond successful with it, worked on multiple Military projects and has learned a few things here and there. I wasn't name dropping, I was stating the fact of people who are involved with DSC, and development on such projects. The Corvette and 350 Magneride systems are the same, both made by DWI. Yes the cars are different, but when you can go beyond the wheel senor for driver inputs and live information on what the car is doing there is going to be improvement, regardless of "insert name here driver".

DSC used an R as their development vehicle. What they do is essentially expand the envelope in both directions, ie. street comfort and track prowess, in all their applications. After spending hours on Corvette and Porsche forums I ordered mine today. Unless Ford engineers managed a feat that GM, Porsche, and Nissan engineers could not, I expect a significant enhancement over stock.

Levitas told me that DSC is better than ALL the factory controllers for the same reason: the OEM's use approx. 15% of the shock's range whereas DSC uses 100%.

Interesting, but I feel like 15% may be a bit low? I know my R in Track mode is far, far stiffer than just a 15% difference compared to normal.

Honestly if they can operate within the total range, I would almost prefer they utilize perhaps 90% or even 85% of the range, to leave just a little bit of extra leeway in each direction.

Forget I said anything about 15%. I don't know where I got that.

I had a good long talk with DSC today about the tuning. It's plug n play, retains all the modes, can also be custom tuned to your needs by them talking you through the tuning process over the phone and making changes from a blue tooth device. It's updatable, and comes loaded with a tune that's above the oem settings. He said 95% of the users will probably not make a custom tune, but if they like it's capable.

Will they be offering springs or are they only tuning for the stock ones I'd really like to drop the car a inch

I am interested but not decided until there is data to show improvement in lap times. I am not going to drop that kind of coin just for feel.

Just the module. I have R springs and I've been talking to ford performance for nearly every week for the last month about the springs they have coming out. Like always ford performance never knows anything. All the guys I've talked to know nothing. They don't know the spring rates, lowering amount, or when they will be available other then to call back in another week. Sorry Ford performance but you guys really are clueless about your own product. I think I'd rather go with the Eibach springs instead. Besides they probably make them for FP anyhow.
