The only thing a tuner does for a cat delete is turn off cat protection. Nothing else in the tune needs to be touched.

I'm not sure if the EPA considers cat protection part of the emissions system, if they do tuners won't be able to turn this off, the check engine light will turn on unless you fool the computer.
I'm almost certain the tuner wont turn that off. So then it doesn't make a difference when I do the cat delete.

My thought process was do the cat delete right before the tune so I can log it and have the best possible outcome that way its reviewed vs doing it after.

That would be your best bet. I'd ask to have cat protection turned off, just tell the tuner you don't care if you have to change cats every so often. Wink, Wink.

Hmmmm I can try that and ask, lets see what happens 🤞 . Ideally that would be great. I was thinking to do the cat delete and have the welder put the O2 bung in and install O2 spacer in to take care of CEL.

Damn so basically if I uninstall my hi flo cats and remove the insides I would need a retune. I guess I can’t do that today
No.
