Having issues with my car cutting off when coming to a stop, or when riding high in the rpm around 4 or 5 or greater. I hit the clutch and the rpm will fall to 0 randomly not all the time. Im gonna take it to Ford but I'm gonna have to reload the stock tune. Will I damage anything driving to the dealership on a stock tune with longtubes? I can put the stock air box back in but the longtubes r here to stay.

They likely aren't going to do any warranty service with a tune and longtubes. They can tell the ECU is modified and you will be out of pocket.

I would contact your tuner first.

All a tune does with headers is stop your cel from coming on. You will have a check engine light for that. Other then that it's fine

Your tuner couldnt fix it or....? Seems odd that he'd just tell you to take it to the dealership.

Yeah I think he told me to take it to the dealer so I don't have to pay anything out of pocket. Warranty should cover it. Apparently a couple people have been having thenough same problem without a tune. I hoping its bad throttle body. It threw a code when I was in 5th at 151 and went into limp mode. P2111 throttle Actuator A control system stuck open. Started the car back up, and drove normal again. But under normal driving the car will just shut off when coming to a stop

Thanks for your response. I was most concerned about my longtubes with the stock tune. I feel like I was ripped off. If all they did was turn off a engine light and called it a tune, someone has some explaining to do

I wouldn't assume that your tuner ripped you off. It could well be that it's safe to run the car with headers on a stock tune, but that it also won't make as much power as with a tune for the headers.

Do what your tuner suggests. Why ask a bunch of random dudes on the internet without giving them the whole story if your tuner already said how to deal with it? I'm sure somebody confident enough to sell a tune has better advice than random dudes from the internet.

I was thinking about taking it to the dealer but since it would cost me more money to take my longtubes off and back on, I'm just gonna pay for a new throttle body and hope this fixes my problem. Throttle body is only 100 bucks. If I take my jlt off and run the stock tune , I still have my longtubes on and with a stock tune it will.throw a code. When Ford sees that, they will probably stamp void on my warranty.

Honestly you can forget about a dealership the moment you tuned and headers and whatever else, besides the rare anomaly dealer, I can't imagine you've got any warranty possiblility in the drivetrain. I think it'd be a wasted trip in that regard. Now if you can get them to pull codes and/or diagnose you might be on to something. (not ripping you for mods, honest)

Put stock air box back on and flash stock tune back into the car. I want to know if this still happens on the stock tune or not.

Coming from someone whose been tuning for 8 years now it Sounds to me like a bad throttle body but I would put the stock airbox back on it and flash it back to stock to be sure.
