On my convertible the trunk button on the dash stopped working. I used the key behind the seat cushion, now when I turn it nothing happens. It feels as if it is not turning the cable. How do I get into the trunk now?
I do not have fol down seats.

The key fob is not working either?
The key behind the seat is, I've heard, very hard to turn. I've never tried mine so don't know for sure.
Another member had an issue and removed the seat back and reached through and pulled the emergency handle.
Good luck.

The key behind the seat cushion did work, now when I turn the key it feels like it is not attached.

IDK then, if it stopped working and nothing else works it seems like there's only one other option. Disassemble the seat back and reach through. The other guy made it sound like a real pain...

Have you tried the button above the license plate?

Have you checked all the fuses?

Most likely the infamous trunk harness has broken wires within it, which usually renders the front and rear trunk popper buttons useless…

Where are they located?

The bad part I have to open trunk to get to it. The very same day I was going to check the harness is when trunk would not open. I wonder if lock smith can open it without damage to car?

If there was a keyhole and a lock with a physical connection, a locksmith would have something to work on. But if the only ways to release the latch are an electrical signal through wires that are not working, or by pulling the emergency release, a locksmith can't help you.

I agree. I've told him twice now that, if nothing else is working, he's going to have to remove the seat backs to reach the emergency pull. No locksmith is going to do that.
If the OP doesn't have the ability to do that himself, then a body shop may be his best bet.

I have pulled the seat. The problem is it is a convertible and really no full access to the trunk except for something very skinny. I will talk to a lock smith tomorrow to see if they can do it.
No disrespect but seats are removed.

I am hoping the locksmith would have access to such a tool, I do not.
Some kind of very long hook to snag that emergency release and tug on it.
