Read above. It was the cord.
I was just trying to make a suggestion. I had to do a factory reset. And no, I wasn't going to read the other responses before making a suggestion. I don't have time for that.

It's okay. Reading is hard. Especially when it's resolved on the 1st page.

Speaking of skipping things, see post #5 of this thread. Why would I do a factory reset when switching to the correct cord fixed the issue?

It was the cord. Google said to make sure you are using a Samsung cord, so I swapped it and now it works. 👍🏻
I suffered with poor connectivity for 2 years. Tried so many things, but either the connection was dropped or AA would not even launch. My phone is an old S7. The current AA is not compatible with my phone, so therefore it does not update.

Recently I updated to the latest Sync 3 version (via wireless with car sitting in garage), and I purchased a new USB data cable. Since then things are better, but far from perfect.

I plan to replace this phone in the spring and hope things will improve.

Thanks. Ill look into the Motorala adapter.

As for the rest, I have no desire for games and Netflix. I mainly just use Android auto for Waze and music. It would be nice not to have to plugin like every other new car on the market. 🙄
Keep in mind that the initial wireless adapter setup requires a wired connection, so that can be a Catch22. Ask me how I know. IOW, you will have to get the damn thing to work wired before buying a wireless adapter!

Usually the cable. Buy a high quality cable. That said, and I'm an Android guy, but Android auto is buggy AF, especially in vehicles with wireless AA. Even my wife's 23 Camry is glitchy with hard-wired Samsung Galaxy S22's. Inevitably, the sound cuts out on music periodically (for like a second or so, just enough to be annoying). On my recent loaner 24 F150, the wireless Android Auto on my Galaxy S22 Ultra was absolutely glitchy and lost connection every single time in under 15 minutes.

Is Apple Carplay more reliable? I don't know.

Yes, I had the same problem. It would work for the initial part of a drive then disconnect. A new Samsung cord cured that.
