I moved my 2021 GT500 the other night to wash it and noticed a nickel sized drop of fluid on the garage floor. It has 2300 miles on it. I put the car up on my quickjack's and confirmed it was coming from rear of transmission. I took it to the dealer on Friday and they determined it is the output shaft seal that is the issue. I am curious if anyone else has had this problem? Hopefully it was just a defective seal and there is not something else going on that caused the seal to fail. The part is 2 days out and will be installed this Thursday.

First I've heard of a rear seal issue. I have seen some issues with line fractures where the fittings at the end leak right at the transmission where they are bolted in place. If all it is in your case is a torn seal it should be a quick and easy fix.

The LMT hardware has nothing to do with the seal at the rear of the transmission. Rather, it is for addressing leakage where the lines enter the case. I have the kit and it is very high quality.

I agree, the kit I got is very high quality. If I ever need it, I will join you in what we talked about though, and flare the line.

What the OP is experiencing sounds like a tail shaft seal.

What is this piece of which you speak? I can’t find anything on their website like that.
Does it brace those tube fittings where they enter the trans? I’m about to change the side filter again and that would be the time to install such a part. Thanks.

Believe this is happening to me. Parts/fix going in Thursday. Very slight transmission fluid leak. My guy at Ford said the line isn't straight or something.

Note that your leak is on a different line than the one in the previous photo with Jeff's kit in place. Jeff had asked me if I wanted a kit for each line and I said no, that I'd start with one and see what happens. A bit disconcerting seeing it happen with both lines.

Good luck with the repair Skwibbs.

I'm becoming more curious about how common leaks are (and may be later) with those hokey trans lines.

I've seen several cars afflicted here, the FB group, and elsewhere on the web.

Are the Trans serviceable? I know of a GT500 with a leak and the Trans was replace only. I wonder what the cost will be once out of warranty? I hope Ford did not pull a Porsche move.

Not talking about leaking lines.

I know someone with the same. It's still under warranty and he claims the trans is 25K.....he's not too happy that his 6 figure Furd is already getting a new DCT with less than 5K miles on the odo

If you're willing, I'll gladly pay the postage and a few bucks for the section you cut off. I'd like to see if the OEM tubing used can be flared to fit an appropriately sized AN fitting. Jeff's kit, while excellent, uses a compression fitting. I'd prefer to flare the line instead.
