I personally love the 10 speed auto!
+1. My A10 shifts beautifully. My 15 GT with the MT82 was a POS. Even after the Steeda spring, MGW shifter, stainless steel clutch line and BG Syncro shift fluid swap it was notchy as hell. I hated driving that car.

Well, then you'd hate driving all of the manual trans $100 - 300K supercars out there. If you want a non notchy shifting experience, get yourself a 1986 Hyundai.

I went from a 2013 GT Brembo pkg with 6 speed auto to a 2019 GT PP2 with the 6 speed manual. While I don't regret it, I think the 10 speed auto would have been better, but you can't get the auto on the PP2.
I know my 13 was faster off the line, and may have been faster top end than the 19. The 19 just rides and handles better than the 13.
If I were you, I wouldn't trade, but don't take financial advice from me.

The shifting on the '18 up is excellent. You can shift fast, easy clutch, smooth. However as has been discussed multiple times, the gearing is long. Going from the '18 A10 to the M6 while fun to drive and all that, is a heck of a lot slower.
If you are on payments and are looking to trade I strongly encourage you to return the car completely to stock. Exhaust, tires, whatever. Modded cars ALWAYS return less except for a blower and even then you are lucky to get a thousand or two on the blower over stock. Loud cars are not good sellers.
Do not hose yourself. Get a tune for the A10 and have fun with it!

I have a 2018 royal crimson PP 1 2018 10spd with an Atak catback and steeda lowering springs.
Got the car in October 2018 I own around 28-29k on it. I pay 540 a month and put a decent amount down on it. Has anyone bitten the bullet and traded for a manual? Did you regret it? Thanks
I went from a a 6sp manual pp1 2017 to a 10 speed auto pp1 Gt and and glad I did it. The 10 speed is so much faster with less mods.

Still looking for a tune to get the shifting more responsive. I had a NA tune from Livernois on my 2015 A6 and it was really good. Fast shifting and made more power

Don’t do it. It is a very bad financial decision, especially for something you are not sure if you will be happy with. Trading in a car when you are upside down in it can start a vicious cycle. You’ll start trading in sooner and building more negative equity. Eventually you’ll be paying 900/mo for a Hyundai.

Unrelated financial emergencies aside, it doesn't make financial sense to trade a new car in after only a year and a half no matter what you want to replace it with.

You've been getting a lot of pro-AT and a few pro-MT replies, hardly any of which address the issue of how much you might be willing to sacrifice financially to scratch that gotta-at-least-try-a-MT itch. That's your real question, along with how long you'd be willing to wait before making the switch and how long you think you'd be keeping that MT car. Only you can answer those.

Suggestions on what to do now to make your AT car more appealing in the short run could get in the way of trading for a MT car later, when the financial hit wouldn't be as severe.

Yeah I’ll look into an older mustang for a manual I’ve never driven a stick car before but I do want to learn
There are better cars than Mustangs for learning to drive manual transmission. A small import is a lot more involving, because you have to shift a lot more. The most fun I have had in a long time, in a car with manual transmission, was a 2005 Mini. It was a beater, but a blast to bang through the gears. Very nimble! I paid $3500 for it, put $800 into repairs and scrapped it for $1200 after 2 years.

Don't do it, you're going to be super upside down unless you have a massive down payment to knock down the negative. The A10 is a gem. Get you something old (80's-90's Ford products) off Craigslist and Coyote/manual swap that; can't beat old cars for doing crazy builds on as there is no worries of warranties or payments. Not to mention you can take the time and do the build right since there would be no time constraints or worries of getting your DD back on the road after massive projects.

Oh, yes, you can say that again. And if the Mini happens to be a Cooper S, then it's a real blast. :inlove:
That car is tremendous fun, no doubt about it.

The only drawback is that it has concrete blocks for suspension. If you run over a bee you can tell whether it was a male or a female. I drove one of those on a highway near my home which I had always considered perfect (in my Mondeo it's butter-smooth at 100 mph), and it rearranged every bone in my body. I don't want to imagine how it would feel on a poorly maintained road.
