What suspension are you high horsepower guys using to get traction on the street? Shocks, sway bars , springs ?

most of your traction will be dependent on the tire. unless you want to daily a drag radial youre gonna spin.

Good luck hooking up on the street with forced induction. I'm a little above stock power levels and I can't hook up worth a damn from 1st to 2nd shift. Crazy tire spin even with 285 summer tires.

For me BMR CB005 and poly diff bushings made a huge difference. Tires will be #1 though.

I'm 750-800whp and can get traction at the top of 2nd and in 3rd on MPSS tires. Get radials if you can afford them though.

Currently I have installed the Steeda Stop the Hop kit and RLCA bearing. I have 19x11.5" rims and I run the Mickey Thompson 325/30R19 ET Streets.

I still spin in the top of second, but 3rd hooks very well.

I previously had the Nitto NT05Rs in a 345/30R19 but they did not hook as well.

Did you up the power past 650rwhp? I am making 735rwhp with NT05rs at 26psi, lockouts and lowering springs. With a little heat in the tires in this 55 degree weather I can dead hook 2nd gear from a roll on my 10 speed auto.

3.55. I have had good luck with the NT05rs. But I learned from many sets. They need to be properly heat cycled. I have Discount Tire heat cycle them when I order. Without the proper heat cycle / break in there is a noticeable difference in traction. At least in my experience.

With 400+ lb/ft of torque ... for starters, how about upgrading the 285 "space saver" rear tires?

I have 3.55 gears as well. I spin tire at the top of second even if I slow roll into it, the car will break loose around 6000 rpms or so.

No I am still at the 652rwhp, but that is on a very conservative Dyno and 90 degree summer temps. I have previously been on a different Dyno that read about 60hp higher with the same setup. I would have been around 710rwhp on that dyno with my current setup. Every Dyno is different depending on the "correction factor" they use.

I personally thought the NT05Rs in a 345/30/R19 I had didn't hook as well as the Mickey Thompsons, but maybe they were not heat cycled like you have mentioned. I think I am going to try the Toyo R888s on my next set just to see how they compare as well.

I have tried r888 before. They are a great road race tire and sticky for hooking up. The downside is they are loud. I would not buy another set because of the road noise they transmit. Reminds me of a 4 wheel drive truck humming down the raod.

If you had to compare the Toyo R888s to the NT05Rs or Mickey Thompson (if you have had these) which one has better grip on the road?

How many miles would you say they lasted? I only got about 2k good miles out of the Nittos and I currently have about 2k on the mickeys but they are still sticky.

From a stand point of traction off the line, the r888 and nt05r were similar in my experience. The r888 handled better around corners though. The MTs have given the most traction on the street for me. But, unfortunately they wear quite a bit faster then the nt05r. That is one of the reason I stick with those.
