I'll be at TH in April for a semi-private track day and that will be my first track day with my 350. You NorCal guys should check this out.

We should all definitely keep in touch and do some track days together! I had a private 2 car "test day" in mind for T-Hill but perhaps we could expand it to include a few region members on the forum if not cost prohibitive. I'm sure we could make it a pretty reasonable cost for all involved, as compared to for-profit track days at least.

Those two car days are pretty inexpensive but it would be more fun having more cars there.

How much do you want to spend? :) The N4S R spec wheels will be a nice option along with the PSC2 tires.
Im headed down the N4S R spec path. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg... and thats why the 18s tires look so attractive, in addition to lower weight and the shorter drive. I am expecting to go through a set of tires every year....so I am cringing at the $2200 19s PSC2 prices....

I learned at T-Hill and its still my fav track. I may have to come down from PDX for this April track day. With my Jan 11 production date, I am hoping I will have my 350 TP by early Feb. Here's me at T-Hill.

At LS track tour, I asked a FP engineer about mods to close the performance gap between R and non-R. He said without any hesitation, tires. Then lighter wheels. He also said run the car in Ford specs and Ford will issue track specs soon.

Has anyone measured ride height between R and TP? I think shorter tires alone makes R about an inch lower. I agree much of TP and R are the same --- I think its just shorter tires, f springs and MR software. Maybe firmer bushings but I think I may skip those for a dual purpose car.

Also read on another thread CCWs fit over Z06's 15.5 in brakes. Surely they can fit over 15s on the GT350.
It was the same thing between the Boss and LS versions. Once you put them on the same wheels/tires there was virtually zero lap time difference. The N4SM R spec wheel is going to be the "go to" for both GT350 and GT350R owners due to the performance (weight) and price point. I've said from the beginning that from a practical standpoint both cars will be virtually equal on the track because most hardcore track rats are going to be buying two sets of lightweight aluminum wheels and running on R7s. Not many R owners are going to drop an extra $20k for two sets of track CF wheels that will get trashed with frequent tire swaps. The GT350 sheds about 50-60 lbs of rotating mass and the R adds about 30 lbs creating a reversion to the mean.

I'd be up for getting a private TH day together...seems there might be enough Norcal guys between this forum and BMO to make it work.
Anyone else on this forum a CFRA member? CFRA is a very good private track group in Norcal.

Yeah I'm really excited to see there's a lot of interest in the idea from NorCal! I'll get us organized for one or two days in the coming months, and hopefully we can make it a good experience for everybody and turn it into a regular event.

Does anyone have a opinion on HRE p101 vs forgeline VX1, forgeline GA1R and the GT350R carbon wheels? I have a track pack on order whenever it gets here and don't care for the stock wheels. Also are any of you going to do any type of mods to your car to track it.

re: mods - safety equipment, for sure. 4-point rollbar, fixed-back seat, harnesses, fire suppression, and I always drive in full safety gear (nomex head-to-toe, full-face, hans).
I'll add tow hooks as well.
everything else is TBD.

re: wheels - I'm sticking with my R carbon wheels for now.

More people need to take safety preparation this seriously. Fire is just as hot at track days or wheel to wheel races, and walls are just as hard!

You like the MM plates? I had them on my fox body and they are great. But I thought about trying vorshlag this time around. Has anyone ever used both the mm and vorshlag caster camber plates?

This will be my third consecutive Mustang track car with MM plates. No complaints and they have always worked well. Black Friday sale yesterday for $222 shipped was too good to resist.
