I know I've seen a thread out there about what weight oil is okay to run track and keep for street but darned if I can find it again. Anyone run a weight that works for both? The 2020 owners states using 5W-30 for track then switching to 5W-20 for street. Call me lazy but I can't see swapping back and forth for every track day/weekend if there's a better way. I'm running 5w-30 now (think) with very little street driving so far. idea's, thoughts, rants on lazy drivers?

Once I started tracking my car I switch to 5w30. Ran Penzoil Ultra Plat. Since last year I have switched to 0w40 Mobil 1 or Amsoil. Drive it street and track. It’s not my daily but all reports from Blackstone Labs have come back great. And yes I know everyone has there opinion of Blackstone

w40 gives me more peace of mind but I know others run w30 without issue.

yah 0w-40 okay. Mobil 1 or Pennzoil. Years back I bought into the Amsoil marketing changing lubricants and oils in my Titan. Sadly I was not able to jump rivers and old broken bridges like the boys from Hazzard County after filling up with Amsoil.

Lol. I’m right there with you. I looked at the M1 prices from Walmart and a day later my Mobil oil was delivered lol. I was going to use Penzoil 0w40 but last time I checked it only came in quart bottles around $20. So Mobil 1 for me

When I started out, I was actually changing between 5w20 and 5w30 per the manual. It got expensive and annoying.

I now also run Mobil 1 0w40 all the time without issue. You can get it pretty cheap at Walmart too.

Theoretically, you want to run the thinnest oil you can get away with. So if your temps are reasonable, stick with w30. As your temps get hotter, you can go up in weight or add cooling (most folks do both).

Here I can get Pennzoil in gallons. Las time they had a promo, scan receipt and get $25 git card. I saved it for the next oil change.

temps, well yeah I got better than last year and then overheated the transmission. So now the heat demon is out of the box. I don't drive my baby in the chilly times, too much.

0-40. Pennzoil makes an ultra-platinum 0-40 for SRT engines, but my motor likes it just fine.
Schaeffer's makes good stuff too.

Funny the Amazon is for only quarts, if you pick the 5qt container it only allows other weights. It 's a challenge to find 0W-40 at the auto stores. Did find Mobil 1 0W-40 labeled as Euro car blend (WTH?). Schaeffer hmmmm I'd be thinking they made beer or pretzels.

Yup, you gotta get 12 quarts if you want the Penzoil Ultra platinum 0-40.

You could also just get Amsoil 0-40. Once you buy the year membership, 0-40 is 11.89 a quart.

Schaeffers has been around forever. They are one of the few that use synthetic base oil.

Driven also makes a 0-40 but it is pricey, and probably not worth it IMO.

I've not seen those brands in Indiana so far. I was able to find Pennzoil in the 5qt before around here just not the Zone or O'Really today.

Mobil 1 0w40 is always labeled European car blend. 0w40 is very common for the German brands of cars. Doesn't make a difference for you though. 0w40 is still 0w40

Right, I doubt the GT would spit it out, LOL.

I always order my oil and filters online. Local Parts places never seem to have what I want. Jeff Bezos or Amsoil always have it to my house in a day or 2
