So just to clarify, the Premium gives you the physical airplane style Toggle switches for Snow/Rain/Track modes. Are these modes accessible without having those switches?

I understand that you can deactivate TC/SC in any Mustang, I'm more curious if a base GT has a way to access different throttle response modes.

YOu cannot have snow mode,Track Mode, Sport mode in base,

But there are ways around. Like switching of all nannnies is track mode.

But your throttle response might not change as with these modes

I have a manual so I'm not sure but it doesn't feel like it's dragging as much when I switch to one of these modes.

OHh trust me..in snow/mode this car is beast .. good for cold regions.. drove my EB through snow last year and before... same is with GT

The question that I don't think I've seen answered is - what is the default throttle map in a non-Premium manual car. I would think it's not same as Standard in Premium one.

Having said that - I drive only in Track mode. Rest of them could not exist for me, just adds effort of clicking the toggle button every time I start it.

Just a note for the "Always in track mode" guys. If you have the adaptive cruise with forward collision warning (which I'm guessing the majority of you do not), then track mode disables your forward collision warning.

Ok I think most people here are missing the question the OP has (maybe not the OP but the direction of this thread). Maybe it can't be answered. We are all aware that the premium with toggles has the drive modes - sport+, trac, etc. We know or assume that besides removing certain traction nannies that it supposedly increases throttle response.

What I believe the OP wants to know is that in a base model does double-tapping the traction control button to get you into sport mode also increase throttle response the same as a premium? What about when you hold in the trac control button for more than 5 seconds then release to get advance trac off will that increase throttle reponse?

If the above does not affect throttle response then does that mean the base model throttle response is consistent no matter what? If it is then is it the same throttle response that a premium would have in sport + or track mode or normal?

Considering both base and premium have their own ways of getting into different traction modes, one would think that the base should also be able to achieve a more aggressive throttle response, and if not then it's default throttle should at least come the same as a trac mode premium model.

I believe the answer is no - it just adjusts the traction/stability control settings. Changes to throttle mapping on Premium with different Drive Modes are _very_ easily noticeable so any non-Premium user can verify it.

That is a good question - I would think it isn't normal. Now 100% throttle in each mode is 100% throttle, drive modes just change the way you get there or throttle opening vs. pedal "angle".

Correct, non-premium has no adjustment for throttle response - PedalMax solves this - if you get the adjustable dial on PedalMax you have a lot of variability in the throttle response, from normal to very aggressive.

I've been looking at something like this because the throttle response seems to be completely garbage regardless of the mode its in. I've never driven a car that I had to mat the throttle to the floor to get a tiny RPM spike to rev-match a gear change from 6-5 on the highway for example. Its the only real dislike I have over the car.

How satisfied are you with that box? I don't want to tune just yet so I think that might make the car more enjoyable until I get around to it.

I like the PedalMax - did not want to tune yet/potentially void warranty - PedalMax makes the throttle much more responsive - which is what I imagine track mode does. It's easy to install, but a bit pricey at around $300 - than again, it makes driving it more fun, so I'd say its worth it.

Double-tapping the TCS button definitely does change the throttle mapping. It's the same as Sport mode in the premium cars.
