Hi, I have a 2019 GT only premium. I have taken it to Road America 2 times for track days. Both days the car didnt go into limp mode but lost all power and had sluggish shifts for the 10 speed. after about 10-15 minutes each session of 25. I was using 5w20 that ford put in at my oil change. my cylinder head temps were fine maybe got to 230 the highest. the trans temps shot wayyy up though. I have put the PP radiator in but thats really it for cooling for engine. trouble is the trans oil. i plan on using 5w30 or 40 this time & grabbing a mishimoto oil cooler. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck doing this? im so bummed it is happening so im trying everything to get it working right at the track for 25 minute sessions. thanks !

Reports in the UK suggest the diff overheats first on track.
Could be that the diff temps will become the next issue, after the OP solves the trans temp issues. Probably in Europe, the A10s haven't hit the track yet.

Yep. Even the Torsen, I think. On GT350s, the Torsen has a cooler. But if you only want to prevent issues on a track session, apparently wrapping the exhaust pipes close to the differential makes a noticeable improvement. I might try that too, and you should try it first, since it's a cheap solution, and don't have to change anything. And changing the diff fluid with a thicker one should improve things further. Only after those 2 improvements I'd think of a more complicated fix like an external cooler. Good luck.

Road America! such a spectacular track! But IMO, you're either on the gas, or the brakes all the time. If you had the manual tranny, then I am guessing your brakes would give up first, but our stock 10-speed cars, on >that< track, would def. give up first.

As you should be on every road course, if you are doing it right.
Well maybe. There are occasions when part throttle or even trailing throttle are appropriate - but get what you mean.

A friend of mine had a Ford Focus WRC car (ex Colin McRae) and that just did not work if you were not full throttle or full brakes. It took huge commitment to get it to work and he sold it and went back to his Ford Escort Cosworth rally car which was a little more forgiving.

So yes in theory !

Not sure if you have anything like this in the US ?

Right part throttle and trailing brake count. No way you can drive any track only at 100% throttle or 100% brake the whole time, except a drag strip.

I'm a intermediate driver but I can't see how being at 100% throttle or 100% brake mid-corner being feasible.
