Had a wonderful Mach 1 Track Attack experience, first rate all the way. However, I would've loved a couple more fast lapping sessions. I was just getting the feel of the track when the third lapping session ended. Riding with the instructor at the end of the program was incredible, showing you how to really nail the braking zones, Just one question, what in the world is the metal object they gift you which includes a replica of the hood decal? I'm stumped.
They told us it was a cell phone holder. For me it sits next to my owner's kit as my tribute to my best car ever...along with the Ford Images Mach 1 print with my name/VIN plate I got as a Christmas gift.

On the track attack, I agree that the instructor run showed me that I was really screwing up the braking...I was not aggressively braking like they emphasized on the drag strip/braking exercise. They kept saying throughout the day that the best race drivers have their braking down...how true that was.

Participated in the Mach 1 Track Attack at Charlotte Motor Speedway last Friday (July 29). It was an awesome experience, the instructors were top notch—if you are on the fence, it is well worth your time to attend!

It will take at least a week to wipe that smile off your face!!! 😁

Man, I want to do this so bad. Ive done a lot of spirited driving living in the mountains, but absolutely ZERO track time, which is kinda intimidating.

Wonder if I could get my wife registered too since I did technically buy two Mach 1s, eventhough I traded one for the other. 🤣😂

No track time required for the Track Attack—several participants had little to none….

The morning exercises give you the key skills, and the afternoon track sessions build you progressively and challenge you within your comfort level. Through each round of the sessions, you get grouped accordingly based on matched abilities…

I have a feeling you have two track attacks that you are eligible for. If you were the original owner in Ford's eyes you should be good. Spouses are amongst the many that are approved to participate.

Was at track attack the beginning of June, driving the same blue number 17 as you joker m1. The one instructor told me they don’t do anything to the cars beside seat delete, seat belts, bars, radios and tires. I did notice the cross traffic was turned off also.

I'm waiting for fall for slightly cooler weather. Will probably aim to do it around October... It sounds like a helluva event. I'm afraid to re-open the insurance can of worms in this thread, but I am curious how many of the participants in this thread got it and formed an opinion one way or another?

I never bother with HPDE insurance anymore on my personal cars when I go to the track because the cost just doesn't seem worth it with the deductible, so I'm not sure why I'm considering it for this event. Sounds like the cost and benefits are about the same.

BTW, anyone have video from the event? Do they let you record with your own GoPro, providing mounts or anything?

I had to cancel due to Covid which I think was a blessing considering how hot it was so I was thinking Sept or Oct too.
I have seen a few vids on youtube. Track Attack uses a 2 camera system, one on the driver and the other on the track.
Yes, I was debating buying a GoPro myself considering they are charging $179 but haven't decided. Hell, you can use your phone considering you have a decent resolution if you have a way to mount it.
