My tpms need replaced a long with the tires. I was telling my cousin about it and he suggested there should be an alternative to buying the sensor because all it is one button sending a frequency. It really doesn't bother me to spend the $32 at American Muscle but I want to tell me cousin I tried. He is a big influence in my life. I dont want to buy Forscane as an alternative.

I bought this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0816DTM8M and it worked just fine, only $12-$13.
That being said you might be lucky and have the car had the new sensors on its own and need nothing but a short drive for it to pick them up. My car has done that and also has needed the tool to recognize new sensors, I'm about to find out as new winter wheels (and sensors) are going on tomorrow.

OEM sensors will sync automatically. Mine synced before I was all the way out of my driveway.

Any TPMS, OEM or aftermarket, with the correct FCC ID is compatible and will work. The FCC ID can be looked up by getting the OEM TPMS PN and looking up compatible aftermarket TPMS. Aftermarket TPMS list FCC IDs. Use the ID to search.

New TPMS, OEM and aftermarket, must be activated to the wheel position using the TPMS procedure and the handheld RF tool. The rear right pressure will display in the front left position if you don't use the procedure. I'm surprised if a new TPMS works at all without the sequence because the car does not have the ID of the sensor. The handheld tool is not a sensor. It's an RF transmitter that selectively activates one TPMS at a time. It doesn't transmit a single frequency. It transmits digital data. Any hand tool with the same FCC ID as the TPMS works. For Fords, TPMS work just like the keyfob. TPMS transmit on the same frequency, use the same FSK modulation, are received by the same antenna in the car, and processed by the same module the BCM.

The CR2032 battery in them can be replaced on versions enclosed in a plastic case. Carefully cut off the top of the case and install a new CR2032.

Weird. My '22 Gt and my '22 F250 both synced up without any procedure or tool. Both synced within 30ft of moving them.

Who installed the new TPMS? Have you checked the pressure displayed in the dash is the pressure at the wheel location, not another wheel location? What happens when you rotate the tires?

You could borrow a tool, or just swing by the dealership and ask a favor.

A buddy and I did on the F250 and I selected OEM when I order my wheels from LMR. Yes, I have checked the pressures manually and they were/are correct. Never had an issue with rotation either. I put 32,000 miles on the F250 rotating them every 5k and currently at 47,000 on the GT rotating every 5k as well. Have never used a RF tool or any procedure, just mounted and went.

American Muscle sell sensors that are self syncing. Its the package that comes with the sensor tool. I know, makes no sense, but they self sync'd on my 2017 and it says it on the sensor box.

It says directly in the workshop manual TPMS syncing is needed for tire rotations and new TPMS. I wish I could explain how your car knows when your sensors are at a new wheel position when you rotate the tires!

My 19 gt syncs up within a few miles of driving when I switch wheels but when my parents put nee sensors on my mom's 10 gt we had to use the tool. We both used oem sensors so im not sure if its because of age or just luck on the draw.

Yeah that cheap Amazon tool for $12-13 should work fine if you need one, but honestly try the OEM sensors first since a lot of people are saying they auto-sync without needing any tool at all.
