Just a part of Naval exercises off Port Everglades......
It usually takes place around an undersea testing range operated
Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division’s South Florida Ocean Measurement Facility. :D

BTW, the ‘R’s’ look great...... keep us posted.
"Naval exercises" is the usual excuse for the cover-up. I heard from a reliable source that it was transporting the GT500 prototype.

Just bumping this old thread for the same question but for the oil filter purposes. My old ACDelco no longer works (it was 2-37 ft lbs). I need something thats precise for that low torque ranges. What do you guys recommend?

Since the first 10-20% of the low/high boundaries of the advertised torque values are no go, I dont think Precision Instruments' 50 ft lbs torque wrench is a good idea as its right on the boundary.

Also, I always had issues with the torque wrench never fitting in to that door/latch where the oil filter goes. I started using a swivel head and a long extension and actually go from outside of the under carriage towards the wheel. How do you guys get around that problem?

Lastly, do you use the Ford's special oil filter adapter?

I use this for lugnuts and other large things (50-250 ft-lb): https://www.amazon.com/Neiko-03709B...491444546&sr=8-5&keywords=neiko+torque+wrench

this one for smaller things (15-80 ft-lb): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LNDCXS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and this one for really small stuff (40-250 in-lb): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000N7D32C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

for anything smaller I use a Park tool beam torque wrench from my mountain biking days.

I use an oil filter adapter, but not Ford's (bought my car used and the PO kept all of the stuff :( ): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018NMV7X0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

(also, should be fairly obvious... but I'm really impressed with the Neiko Pro torque wrenches, lol)

For the digital and click type torque wrenches the 20% rule may apply, but the beam type wrenches should be accurate through the entire range. I use a small 240 inch pound beam torque wrench, 3/8 drive, and I have no problem with the oil filter. I have had this wrench for over 40 years, you may have problem finding anything like it today. I don't use the Ford adapter, I have a stamped steel one that fits in the area better, but I use a sheet of paper towel between the filter and adapter to improve the grip. All work is done through the door.

Yes, I did - I bought a filter socket off of Amazon with a 3/8 inch drive and a 3/8 inch torque wrench. The Ford socket is just too big with the big 7/8 inch hex on the end of it and trying to adapt a torque wrench to it.
