in the tail of dragon- yes. but we wasn't in the tail section, we was outskirts, I think they called it the skyway or heaven or something like that. the photo with me standing is the area we was at, long swooping beautiful turns with not a single person there. didn't see anyone up there.

Cherohala skyway is a nice ride. I prefer it to the dragon. EVERYONE wants to do the dragon and the police know that so they will setup shop there. You see a long straight and think you can finally get up some speed and thats when they get ya! I live in the area and still haven't done the dragon in my mustang cause this is what would happen to me. I've been on the dragon just not in my mustang

This is why you need a great radar detector!

Same here + a complete suspension upgrade - all of it Steeda. I'm 1" lower than I was on progressive springs and adjustable shocks, and there's a lot less air around the wheels and tires than there used to be. 285 35 R19 in front with 10" rims, 325 30 R19 in the rear with 11" rims.

No special splitter and spoiler delete. It's the 1" drop that would make the most difference.
I installed a Steeda splitter and squished weatherstripping in between the hood and headlights...these really helped with the light front end. I cruised very comfortably at 120mph for years; 135-150mph was still iffy.

Where in NY could you ever achieve those speeds?

Ah yes, the Cherohala skyway. One of my favorite roads. I spent a week down there with some friends and we were tearing it up back when I was into Euro cars. Reminds me of a funny story. I pulled off to take pictures of a dam and reservoir with intention to meet my friends later, so my buddy took the lead in his bright yellow Lotus Elise. Not 5 minutes later I hear over the radio (we all had hand helds since cell service is spotty) that he got popped by two cops hiding behind a rock. 83 in a 35. Lmao. But the cops know that the driving tourists as they're called spend a lot of money in the area. Unless you're being super dumb they usually cut you slack. I think he got a 15 over ticket.

all my guys had mandatory court dates, we are in Ohio, they all had to carpool back down, take off work, and even got a hotel together because it was like 2 days of court dates, half of them was 1 day and other half was next day. that was probably planned too to cause people to stay in town longer.

I had a great time, but that really put me in check, I also contribute my recklessness to peer pressure, I go fast spurts here and there, but ive never EVER had my bike damn near maxed out without a care in world, its crazy how you get brave when with a group.

but!-- it was amazing weekend, we had a house and went out each night. the food in that area was amazing too.

I recommend it to anyone who's never been, car or motorcycle, its a nice little trip.

Yeah, we rented a cozy cabin on a river. It was such a good time. There's a local barbecue place in Townsend too which was godlike. We ate there like three times in a row.
