Top Hat delete for camber adjustment

Just installed my new set of BC Racing coilovers and in order to easily access the camber plates i need to remove the top hats on the front shock towers. has anyone done this before/yet?

that is what I'm referring to actually. not much help on that thread. guess ill venture down this road just me and an angle grinder! gotta get this alignment finished before my next event.
