Dodge is taking the lead on this and I think it's a great idea. Ford doesn't like ADM either:

"After that, dealers will be allocated Hellcats based on the length of time they spend on dealer lots before being sold. This is being done partly to reduce dealers’ use of surcharges, which add to profit but can keep cars sitting on lots instead of getting out to buyers’ driveways. Mr. Kuniskis said the goal for Hellcat powered cars was to be “shared” with friends and thereby move the brand forward. That is one reason why the price was set at $60,990, including shipping — to make it affordable by a relatively large group of people, many more than could buy it if dealers slapped a $20,000 surcharge on the hood"

I like what Dodge is doing. Makes me want to get a Hellcat and drive it for awhile.

I hope they go even further and just cut off allocation of all SVT cars for a year or two to any dealer that charges an ADM

Why worry about it and instead use a purchasing service that has negotiated rates...I know several that snagged Boss 302s, when they were at a premium, below MSRP using this method.

I hope the GT350 is lower in price too, starting no higher than...52k. Otherwise I might move to the dark side and look at that hellcat...707hp...who needs to turn? Heck of a cruiser :-D

What purchasing service are you talking about?

I posted this in the pricing forum but I'll post this again. As long as there are people willing to write a check for ADM, they will continue to mark it up. Living in Roseville, Ca., Future Ford added $25k to the 2010 GT500 was it was introduced, this is the same dealer that marked $150K on a Ford GT. I also belong to the Shelby GT500 forum, just 25 miles from Future Ford is Harold's Ford, many members from the Shelby GT500 forum bought their Shelby GT500s, including the 2013/2014 via their internet dept. for only $1K over dealer's invoice. I bought both of my Roush S3 and GT500 from Carol at Harold for $700 over dealer's invoice, don't know if Carol is still around, but last I checked, they are still doing $1K over dealer's invoice, I know where I am buying the GT350 from. Point is, even with Mopar policy on the Hellcat, there's no way they can police it since the average Dodge dealer are expecting to move 2 Hellcats per year, like Ford dealerships, their bread and butter isn't in the Hellcat or Shelbys, its all about the trucks, Hellcats and Shelby may drive traffic into the dealer for people to feel and touch, but there's a reason why the F150 and Dodge Trucks continued to be the best selling vehicles in the America (the world for F150).

It might stop it from them putting ADM's on the cars, but what is to stop them from a bidding war for the highest deposit on an inbound car. It won't stay on the lot and they get their money. There will always be some stealerships out there. Just glad there are a lot of good ones out there.
