Need some advise on tire selection. I finally ordered my 19” 10/11 SVE R357 wheels. I had my heart set on sticking with Michelin PS4 front and rear and was going with 275/35 in the front and 305/35 in the rear but they don’t some in that size for the rear. I also have Steeda Sport for Magneride springs to install just waiting on warm weather.
My question is, will the smaller circumference of a 305/30 vs the 35 with those springs be that noticeable? As in, will it look like I haven’t even lowered the car? I also considered the Nitto which is available in the size I wanted but everything I’ve read about Nitto vs PS4 and my often spirited street/cruising driving style, summer only mind you, would be best suited to the Michelin.

Also, should I end up going 35 in front and 30 in the rear, how noticeable is that difference in size?

This question comes up about twice a day.

I'll spare you the lecture for not thinking the tires through before you hit 'buy' on the wheels.

A lot of people end up running the Pilot Super Sports (the predecessor to the MP4S) which is still available in 305/35 and also 275/35

No... I have 305/30 on mine currently . It was actually by mistake on my part. My previous tires were Cooper RS3 305/35 but somehow i ordered the others and im here to say they sit just as good. What i can tell different is i dont rub when i hit bumps now. I am also lowered on steeda. My fronts are also 35 and its a beautiful look
oops attached the wrong pics .

Yeah, it was a honest oversight on my part. I have a freakin spreadsheet of all the wheel/tire combos I was looking at and mixed up the fact that PS4’s don’t come in a 305/35. I did see the PSS and also thought about going that route but did not mention it in my post.

What part MD are you in? Might be local enough to me that I could take a look at your setup.

I have some PSS, and in probably 305/35. I know I have 295/35.
I also do have PS4S in 325 FWIW.

I'm running the PS4s (295/35/19) on the front and the PSS (305/35/19) on the rear. I have coil-overs but only dropped the car an inch all around. There is no rubbing and I really like the way the car stays sticky on the curves. If you really want to know how much difference the 30's will make just google a tire size calculator and do a tire comparison.

One more thing I used to have the cup2 tires but they only lasted a couple of track days. They come in the sizes you are looking for but you will probably want to stay away from them because they can hydroplane pretty easy. Here in the desert I didn't have to worry about that too much.

Bummer. I'm on the Mason Dixon line.

I had thought about going that route. Do you have any regrets running PS4 on the front and PSS on the rear? I read it's not a good idea generally by I think the two are close enough it shouldn't matter much? I've tried every combination of tire in the tire calculator. The 30 would be 1" less on the rear. I can get it close going wider but I think I'm set on the 305/35r19 as they are similar in diameter to the stock 275/40's.

You got any side profile pics of your setup you can share?

Don't have a problem with the mix. The PSS on the rear give good traction for acceleration and cornering and you all ready know how the PS4 feel on the front.

Here are the pics of the car. Haven't really taken any that show the car on the level but these may do.

I settled on and placed my tire order today. I’m using a local shop so paying a bit more but I shop local when I can. Going Pilot Sport 4s 285/35/19 in front and PSS 305/35/19 in the rear. I should be able to mount the new wheels next week. I’ll post pics when I do.

If you can get your hands on them I bought a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 supercar. They are a 315/40/19. I was going to go with a 35 aspect in the back but this will give me a bit more sidewall in the back and I’ll be throwing a set of Pirellis p zero upfront 275/40/19.

Edit: I found them on Amazon so you might try and see if there are any more left.

Hello there, it's Kj from Need4speed Motorsports. I just wanted to drop in and offer a few words about your tire selection. The PSS is considered a "Beast of a Tire", and the list of vehicles to use this tire is long. BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini are just a few to dawn this tire by Michelin. With its "Y" rating, it's good up to speeds of 186MPH, this is made possible because Michelin incorporates many of their new technologies, 4 to be exact, which gives you great traction, steering, and cornering.

Great selection My Friend. That color of your S550 is Very Nice!

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to drop us a line. Happy Driving.
