Now help me with this. You say the tire I am showing is not for my car? This has me totally confused. I guess you were saying the 295 was actually smaller than the 275 p4s and not for my car?

That was just me referencing back to you saying you wanted 295/35s. I don't really get how/why they're that way, but yeah - I was just saying 295s are smaller than 275s. They'd honestly probably "work", but I think sticking with a 275 is the move and looks really good on the stock PP wheels.

I should have worded my thread differently from the start. If I had it to do over. I would have said I am looking to plus size my stock PP1 setup. Sometimes there's some room to step up a size and keep the stock wheels etc.. I even like the idea of going square with 275s all around. Not sure of the consequences of that either.

Not my first rodeo or first Forum. As a former classic Corvette restorer I have been a senior member at Corvette Forum since 2008. But I am not up to date on the latest high performance wheel and tire info regarding Mustang fitment. The tire guides are up to date whether it be Tire Rack or Discount Tire. They have been showing the correct tire for my car all along. The larger sizes I was posting were just general searches for a certain size tire. Not their tire selector.

You could probably go 265/285, but I think the general convention is the stock setup is pretty close to as big as you'd wanna go if you do any kind of performance driving so the sidewalls are rolling over a ton. There are some members who have gone 9.5" all the way around and ran a square 275 setup. I think that looks pretty mean.

Personally, I went spacer route and kept stock tires.

What if I kept the wheels 9.0 on front 9.5 on rear with 275s all around? I think I read of someone doing that.

I considered going to spacers but I am concerned they place undue stress on the other components ie: bearings, control arms etc.. I am old school in the sense that I feel the Ford engineers spent a lot of time and money coming up with this combo. I am not real quick to interfere with that. There are quite a few engineers who say no spacers. That you need to go ahead a change wheels and offsets to do it properly. I haven't had a first person experience with spacers. Unless I heard a solid argument against the engineers. I am wary of spacers. That's why I am asking you guys.Quite a few seem to be using them.

Doing something like 275 35 r19 or 275 40 r19 all around is quite reasonable. My rain tires are 275 35 r19 continental ecs on PP1 wheels.

As others already said a 10" wheel would be better for 285s. What are you trying to accomplish with the new tires? Just the wider look? Is traction important to you? Personally I wouldn't change tire size at all unless I can do so while keeping the sidewall the same or taller than stock.
Hi , I already have the 19 x 11 SVE on my gt premium with nitto g2 tires on them. I just want to replace with better tires. I dont track but I do like the wider tire all around. Thank you for your input.

Please elaborate? Aren't OEM what comes on the PP1 car? I figured if I wanted what originally came on the car, OEM would be the choice? The factory uses non OEM tires? Which model are you recommending?
Check here before you buy. It might save you some heartburn:
I am going with set of Michelin Sport 4S in a 295/35-19 all around. According to Discount tire selector this will fit no problem. I am interested in Forum members opinion on sizing, experiences and opinions.

I am already set on brand and model. A track day a couple times per year. I don't want to lower the car due to Houstons crappy streets. But I do want a fuller fenderwell and stance. Spacers are out.

Should I go to a 305 on the rears even though wheels are only 9.5 wide, or go square with the 295s? I think 305 all around might be an issue with 9 inch wheels on the front?

All opinions welcome. I need to pull the trigger on these in the next day or so.
Check here and compare wheel sizing:

I decided to stick with a new set of stock size OEM PS4s. Ford did a good job engineering the setup. Maybe a do a whole new wheel tire combo down the line. Thanks for everyone's input.
