Hello, I am looking for tire recommendations for my 22' GT with stock pp1 wheels. I currently have 285/40/19 in the rear and was wondering if I should with that size or go with a different size, the tires that were on the car when I bought them were Bridgestone Potenza re050a but wore out pretty quickly. I live in California and daily drive my car, so I am looking for a tire that has some decent treadwear but has some grip too at a fair price (Car is stock).

I think your fronts are 19x9 and rears are 19x9.5, right?

For the rears, 275/40/19 would fit great for the 19x9.5

For the fronts, 255/45/19 would fit great for the 19.9

Ultimately, you want to find a tire with a measured rim width of the same size as the wheels you are running.

A lot more tire choice (and cheaper) in 275 than 285

PP1 cars came with 275/40ZR19 in the rear and 255/40ZR19 in the front. Summer tires will give you the best performance but wear faster. All seasons will give you more mileage but sacrifice performance. This is generalization but you need to find what works for you.

There was a recent post on top 10 tire performance. They show a different car but having used 4 of the tires tested, I would agree with their results.

I had good luck with Continental all season DWS06 on my Camaro. Good for heavy rain and cold temperatures and decent enough grip to run all summer on the Camaro.

Not as much grip as a summer only tire, for that I like Michelins with about 300 tread wear. I lose track of all the changes they do, but I liked the Pilot SS as well as the 4S.

The Continental ECS02 is a great tire! Grippy in the dry and great in the rain. Only have just under 5,000 miles on mine so far though so I cannot speak to actual life. Although, they look like new still.

Was planning on the DWS06 or pilot 4s I daily drive my car so I’m okay with sacrificing a little performance on the tire for more tread wear as I also plan to buy a drag pack eventually, which would you go with if you had both in front of you between those two?

I think the DWS06 is the better choice for long life and good performance in any weather. I had a set on my Camaro for two years probably at least 15,000 miles and they still had plenty of tread. 4S would be nearing end of life. The 4S summer tire I've experienced some hydroplaning as well.

If grip was number 1 priority I would go with Michelin.

Continental ECS02 (Extreme Contact Sport 02).

Have these on the rear of both of my GT's (2018 and a 2024). Fantastic tires.

Summer tires - MP4S and ECS02 are good suggestions.

All-seasons - DWS06 is solid.

255/40R19 and 275/40R19 are the right sized tires. You benefit very little from going wider than that on OEM wheels with a normal soft sidewalled street tire.

If you want to go a biy wider, 285/35R19 front and rear with a 19x10 ET35 wheel is a great upgraded setup.
