I have stainless works longtubes, Ford performance resonator delete, and stock active mufflers. I was able to get them aligned to the picture on the ramps. But after driving, they seemed to have slumped back down a bit. Not as extreme as the before picture. I know most people probably wont even notice this, but it absolutely drives me crazy. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on realigning these? Any help is appreciated.

Its a pain in the ass, I would make it perfect, then id go drive, and come to find out, shit would move, I did it like 5 times. I eventually, left it alone, drove for a week, let it settle how it would, then the right side was higher, where I wanted, and left side was down.

so I assumed that is where exhaust was sitting for most part, and adjusted the left side, and left the right side alone.

low behold, that worked. moving everything repetitively making it perfect, it always changed when I drove, I had to let it fall to where it really wanted to sit, and then made the adjustment then.

it was a pain. OCD really got to me for awhile but its perfect now has not moved since I had the final adjustment I feel when you move everything, it causes extra play in it, so I just let it settle and then made small adjustments after multiple fails

Yea man, my ocd is killing me. I feel like I lost 200hp with my crooked tips lol. I was also thinking about getting better exhaust clamps for the midpipe. Maybe they are flexing too much under stress and causing it to move.

very possible. hold on, I show ya what I got. I dont know your diameter or anything, but this brand I went with for my clamps, strong as hell! if I ever need clamps, im looking @ this company on amazon, the pieces I received are seriously high quality. way better than auto zone shit they have all kinds of clamps, butt clamps, lap joints etc. very nice quality indeed. atleast its the nicest clamps ive ever used

if you adjust the front (ie, changing clamps), make everything loose, work your way back. get them pretty finely adjusted, drive for a week, let the tips fall how they will. then fine tune them afterwards left down, right up etc.

Couple tack weld will solve all your problems. Then grind them down so the band clamps will hold properly. If you ever need to remove them, cut off the weld.

The single wall clamps like the Steeda res delete comes with ate garbage. I used some heavy duty ones from Amazon. Easiest way to align is Jack stand under muffler. Slide rear to front until tips are level and then crank the shit outta the clamps.

^this is the answer

Just get it right and have it tack welded. Only way its going to stay.

I am looking to order some upgraded clamps for my Borla S-type exhaust, do I need to order 2.5” or 3” exhaust clamps? I can’t remember what size clamps came with the kit

It depends if the kit uses slip joints or butt joints for its connections, slip joints will use a simple band clamp and are less likely to move after being torqued. Not sure how Borla does it.

They’re slip joints

Then you should be fine with what's included as long as they get torqued properly
They still slip and so I’m looking for some upgraded clamps just not sure what size

Id tack weld it. And if you cant do that yourself, any should should be able to help you out for a small fee.

On another topic, this is the exact setup im looking to do to mine. Can you make a vid of the exhaust sound when your all done?
