This is good info, Marc. Thanks for posting it. Perhaps by the time I order my CAI, Steeda will have corrected the minor shortcomings that you point out.![]()

Dave: Just some notes on the most recent install...first of all, the kit was complete in every detail...excellent quality and excellent craftsmanship all around. I installed the restrictor as per your notes as I will not be adding a tune for the foreseeable future (was good to receive that information beforehand from your representatives on line BTW). First, as you can see, the installation went quite well and removing the resonator and plugging the hole with the supplied plug was a breeze. However, like some folks mentioned here, I too had a fitment issue with adapting the Ford OEM Grille Inlet unit to the Steeda Air Box. Apparently, the OEM unit uses a series of rectangular protruded tabs to fit into their rectangular concave better half so to speak. Unfortunately, the Steeda unit uses Round "Push Pin" type hardware on its kit hence one ends up literally trying to mate and fit a "Round Peg into a "Square Hole" (rectangular hole as it is). So, after two attempts trying to install then unit and having the grille inlet piece fall off, I removed the unit, refit the two halves, drilled out four strategically placed 9/32 holes, and inserted four 9/32 Aluminum Pop Rivets to secure the pieces together...worked like a charm! No more fitment issues and problem solved! As you can see, the installation was completed in short order. I am very satisfied with the kit and installation but I would be remiss if I didn't give you some feedback for your QC department. 1) Packing materials - add some additional packing to the shipment, mine was poorly packed with a minimal amount of Brown shipping paper that did nothing to cushion the components (they were loosely strung out in the box) 2) Add a tube of Loctite to your kits so we can apply some to the two Air sensor screws as well as the four screws that secure the Aluminum Plenum chamber 3) Add a small vial of Pureline to lubricate the rubber grommets (although hand soap works well as does electrical insulating grease) 4) Add a detailed parts inventory list to the instructions page (so the customer knows what he/she should expect beforehand...not good to start assembly without knowing if you have everything) 5) Improve the instructions a bit or add a video that one can download prior to the installation (I found doing a "dry Run" rehearsal prior to the start of actual disassembly/assembly worked well for me).![]()
How does the unit sound? I'm assuming it makes the induction sound a little more aggressive.
Thanks.
