Weird, mine liked to pop off. It was a bit of a pain to get it on though.

Of note the difficulties I had were what seemed different sized clamps, and I think the silicon coupler on the Intake side could have a step up design. It seemed to go on the aluminum part really easy.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I decided to wing it since I couldn't wait til tomorrow to call as I've got work early in the am and needed it back together tonight. I ended up drilling two holes on opposite sides straight through the airduct and airbox while they were connected, then used a couple small bolts and locking nuts to keep it from going anywhere. Sturdy as ever now. Not sure what kind of sounds to expect from the engine now as I haven't driven it around yet, but I'll see in a bit.

Great Idea...think I'll try using a Pop Rivet gun instead of bolts but the principle is the same.:headbonk:

I really like Steeda's air box design best but all of these install issues has me wondering.

Yeah it seems this silicone adapter could have been smaller the clamps were twisting and binding...I might try to find better clamps and try that.

I agree on the size of the silicon coupler, seems like the end going on the aluminum could've been smaller, definitely extremely loose. I will say however that as far as I can tell, the clamps seem to have done their job. So I took it for a drive and I must say it definitely sounds louder inside the car when I step on the gas hard, it does occasionally make a slight whistling sound (is it supposed to?). The next thing I wanted to check was the air inlet temp. Now I'm not sure if it's because I wouldn't regularly have the gauge mode open to look at or if my temps are abnormally high. What I noticed while sitting in the drive thru at chick fil a, was that my inlet air temp was rising past 130° which I thought wad incredibly high, as soon as I started driving again however, the temps quickly dropped so long as I was moving to around 7° above ambient. However within sitting parked in the driveway my car rose from 83° to 107° in less than a minute. Is this normal? Sorry if my post has errors, using my phone.

yeah and still a little confused if the tune was for restrictor or not i assumed with but went for a drive and air fuel ratio was hitting almost 10 on wot which seemed too rich so pulled the restrictor out and wot afr is now 12 which seems more fitting. The sound is awesome though... even with my sound tube deleted

Pulled the trigger tonight. Held off on n the tuner for now, but that's one reason I like this intake (since I don't need a tune right away). Warranty and teething issues are holding me back at the moment. At some point a tune will come though as will other mods

HMMM seems like most guys are getting that now, I might have to ask for the restrictor less tune :-)

I was monitoring airflow and temps today (with restrictor) and at IDLE I'm at 20 parts air at WOT I range between 11 and 13 and at normal cruise (6th gear, 60 MPH) I am steady between 14-15 parts. Air temps range base on the time of day and sun factor. It more the sun beats on the hood the hoter the engine bay is. I was into the low 80's this morning (ambient temp was 76) and as high as 103 at a light. This is using the gauges in the vehicle. I wonder just how well the top of the air box seals to the hood.
