Now before someone goes off on a tangent, keep in mind I will not do an E85 tune from Lund or other tuners as I intend to keep the warranty intact until the very end. The car is new and with only 1100 miles on her now. From my understanding the 4.09:1 gears have no issues without a tune and have talked to several people to confirm this...Thanks Mikepol!! So of the 2 which would you do first? Thanks..

Assuming mt-82. If so, the gears will give you more seat of the pants than the minimal HP increase of the FRPP.

I agree that changing the gears would give you most seats of the pants. It will increase the torque at the rear wheels in every gear by almost 10%. Do both at the same time if you can swing it - double whammy and the car will feel much quicker, I bet. You'd need to compensate the speedo for the different gears, otherwise the car will put more miles on the odometer than actually driven, and the speed will read high.

No compensation needed, at least on my 2018... from my understanding the car displays mph based on the wheel speed sensors. It automatically read the correct mph / rpm the minute the new gears were installed.

If manual you'll get more enjoyment/feel faster with the gears over the minimal hp gains from the power pack.

Just to be clear, plan on both. Just which one first. Maybe leaning towards the FRPP kit first, to get the most use of the warranty as the car is only 1mos.old.

Ah, ok, so a tire diameter change would affect it then, but not necessarily the gearing change as long as the tire dia. is stock.

You'll get more/feel more out of the gear change with the manual than the limited hp increase with the FRPP. So that said maybe do gears second so you are not more disappointed /let down with the hp and feel change.

Obviously the tune is much easier to do, so probably go with that.

But gears, especially on the MT82-D4 will make a much bigger difference and also retain factory warranty.

Anyone has max speeds in each gear for 4.09 gearing (assuming stock tire) ?

Assuming 27" tall tires, 7000 rpm shift point, MT82 D3 trans:
    1st: 37
    2nd: 54
    3rd: 81
    4th: 104
    5th: 138
    6th: 212

Don't like it cause ur shift into 3rd before 60 mph, and into 5th in the 1/4 mile.

Assuming 27" tall tires, 7000 rpm shift point D4:
    1st: 45
    2nd: 70
    3rd: 102
    4th: 145
    5th: 179
    6th: 234

Much better for the D4. On par with D3 w/ 3.31 gears.

What gears you have now? I have 3.55 gear in a manual 18 gt. I do have the FP power pack and there was a pretty good increase in torque down low. I am thinking only going up to 3.73. But I am no expert. I vote for trying out the tune first so you see how it feels.
