Obviously the tune is much easier to do, so probably go with that.

But gears, especially on the MT82-D4 will make a much bigger difference and also retain factory warranty.
I did a e85 Lund tune on my 19 gt. If I put in 4.09 gears will I notice a bigger difference then I did with the tune? The tune gave me 40 extra rwhp and really woke it up. Btw Iā€™m a 6 speed.

E85 is a whole 'nother ballgame especially with the Gen 3. It makes a big difference especially down low.

I'd say it would be pretty even between those 2 mods.

Would getting 4.09 make a big difference? Iā€™m up in the air if I should change my gears

I honestly believe a set of 4.09:1 gears will get the car close to an 11 second car

I think so, I think it will transform the car as the current gearing is very tall.

4.30. You know you want to. Donā€™t fear the gear.
4.88 ordered! :D.
Kidding...calling for an estimate For the cost of the install of the 4.09s though. Thatā€™s one job I donā€™t feel like doing myself.

Dealer quoted me $1100 which included 2hours for the computer re-flash (which may or may not be needed).

Installing ring and pinion properly takes some finesse and effort but that seemed high to me. How much have you guys paid for this job?

Is that just the labor or does it include the gears? I got quoted $750 for labor for a shop here in S. Cali.

Is it cheaper and easier just changing the whole differential with the gears you want, curious? I have 3.55 I thought going up to 3.73 would be perfect but now paying attention to this thread it seems that's not the case. IDK.

If its a manual transmission car IMHO a 4.09:1 at a minimum. The jump from 3.55 to 373 is not that much of a difference for the effort. Going from 3.73 to 4.09 is a much bigger jump.

If it's an A10 the gear change would not make much of a difference.

Yea, it seems a lack of gear is not the issue at all with the A10 cars..
