Our stage two has a better wheel combo than a 5862, in my opinion, PTE 55 or 58 series turbos are a complete waste of space in terms of flow, and spool. You can get a turbo that flows the same or better, and will out spool them. I never see any reason to run a PTE 55, or 58 series turbo, literally ever.
When you trying to save them dolllarrrrsss!!! hahaha.

300rpms slower than stock? That is 100% false, more like 1300rpms slower. Stock spools at around 2900rpms where the 5862 is about 4000rpms.
I should clarify my statement a little to be more clear, I can hear it start spooling at 3k which is what I am referencing, its not full on though till about 3.7k to about 4.5k which is where I have a boost drop due to external issue.(either my BOV needs more turns, or my vacuum source needs to be changed, or both) I did not mean to make it out like it was up to speed, it definitely has the traditional delay going on but I know it starts at just round 3k based on hearing it whine then =)..

Unfortunately when I ordered my existing kit, you guys did not have the stage two available nor did you have an ETA, and I checked with you guys first but I could not run E30 in my area, just not enough source E85 for me to go with the stage one setup.

As far as the smaller PTE etc when I was looking it up I had already made my purchase and just didn't want to back out. On a positive note At least I have options now that everything is done going forward (T3 flange etc.)

Borg Warner makes some of the nicest and most reliable turbos out there. People make good power with Precisions, but I don't like them. Back in the DSM days, you'd rebuilt a Precision at every oil change. That might be different now, but when comparing a BW, Garrett, or PTE, I'd go with BW > Garrett > PTE in that order. Garrett's GTX line and Borg's EFR turbos are hard to beat.

PTE stuff really seems to shine once you get into the 6766 and bigger, especially in drag racing with the 88-102mm turbos a lot of them use. But in street applications is where I see BW and Garrett used a lot more often, especially on smaller displacement engines.

anyone who drives a singlescroll mustang on the street and then drives a twinscroll mustang will understand better than some words on the internet can convey. its unfortunate so few big turbo mustang ecoboosts exist this early in the game, not for long tho

What turbo would be the best for someone trying to squeeze out some nice power, but at the end of the day will just be daily driving, and mybe tracking it once and a while.

tldr
what turbo is the best for a daily driver if i wanted to upgrade one. Not looking to race my stang competitively ?

I bet the difference on the Vargas stage 2 vs a TS 7163 will show big time on a manual trans EBM even more... Shifting them gears and losing boost between shifts are really going to hurt 1/4 mile times

How much boost can the Vargas Stage 2 build on the stock converter? Does it quickly come up? I'm assuming the EFR twinscroll would shine in this area.

Do you like the current driveability of your stock turbo, but want more power up top?

if you have the car properly set up for NLS you lose no boost in between shifts, if you are still dropping boost between shifts, you need a driver mod..:)

Spool has nothing to do with bringing the car up on the converter, you will be able to make similar boost the line with either option, but once you launch, spool is doing exactly what for you as your power is falling off up top. The car is never dropping below 4K. I have said it before, and I will say it again. Spool is great fun on the street, but it wont win you a race. Adam obviously has Full-Races best intentions at heart, as they sponsor him which is fine. He has publicly stated the turbo on his car is maxed out, and he needs to put a bigger one on. This means the 7163 graph you see, is all there is, nothing more. So if you are more happy with a car that provides a little more grunt down low, but power falls off up top, then its a great choice, shit its a great choice over all, but it that turbo can't match the power of our Stage 2 up top. You will have to go 7670 to get more flow, and then you lose the spool of the 7163
I was one of the first few to pre-order your stage 2, so I'm not knocking it's capabilities whatsoever as I think it'll work out great for my goals. I come from the auto DSM world where building boost on the line was hard to do without nitrous once you started getting into bigger turbos. That's why I was asking how the stage 2 performed on the stock converter.
